We're so Excited to Celebrate with you!

David and Hailey met in October of 2019 when Hailey was on a girl's trip to Sayulita. She walked into the bar CAVA, where David was working at the time, and scampered up to the bar to order a round of drinks for the gang. She ordered in Spanish. David answered in English, which Hailey felt annoyed with. As she left the bar, her girlfriends all commented on how cute the bartender was. Hailey agreed but thought he was teasing her by not speaking Spanish with her. Later on that evening, Hailey and her group of friends went to Don Patos where David also works. That evening he had decided to close CAVA and help the staff and Don Patos close up. Hailey and Davie ran into each other again (David responded in English to Hailey's Spanish again). They exchanged numbers and texted for a bit but didn't go on a date...not yet at least.

In March of 2020 David and Hailey connected again and after a few weeks of texting, decided to go on a hike to a waterfall in Puerto Vallarta. On the hike, there was an instant connection and the two ended up having hours of conversation and a dance party until dawn. From then on they were hooked and the true romance began.

Strap in folks. This is a doozy. In February of 2021, David's parents came to visit and David let them know that he had the intention of asking Hailey to marry him. He got a ring and for a month, carried the ring with him wherever he went for fear of Hailey finding it in their Sayulita apartment. He also corresponded with Hailey's parents are received permission to pop the question and hatched a plan to have Hailey's mom come from Mazatlan to Sayulita for the big proposal. With help of close family friends, David planned an elaborate proposal to occur at sunset at a restaurant in Punta Mita. On the day of the proposal David was nervous (con razon) and also the couple's house ran out of hot water right as David was showering to head to the proposal dinner. Hailey was convinced that it was just a regular dinner and was nervous that David was acting nervous (she thought they were heading towards a breakup because David seemed out of sorts!). They arrived at the restaurant and all headed down to the beach for pictures. Slowly people started to step out of the picture until it was just David and Hailey left standing on the beach. At that point, David started to say how much he cared for Hailey and yelled "te amo" and took a knee. Shocked, Hailey started to cry out of joy and responded "are you joking? Is this a joke?" and began asking all the witnesses "did you know about this?". This went on for a really long time until she collapsed into David's arms and David exclaimed, "is that a yes". Hailey replied, "of course that's yes!".
