We both graduated college in June of 2017 and decided to head to Israel for a summer internship. We were total strangers who met the first night of our internship program. We ended up getting lost on our way back to the Old City of Jerusalem for what seemed to be forever, but was only two hours. We talked, we laughed, we got to know one another and yes, we kissed. It wasn't until a month later when we both became inseparable. Night after night, we met at the same steps with a bottle of wine, talking and staring at the stars. We fell in love and couldn't imagine our lives without one another. We went our separate ways, Seattle and Philadelphia, but the distance didn't matter. There were many flights, many tears, and many memories that made our year of distance worth every single second.
