Kayla and Robert first met at Susquehanna University in 2013. Two close friends introduced them at a party. It was the classic girl meets boy and she was not interested at first because well... he was not playing hard to get. After a summer of getting to know each other, thousands of texts, and Kayla’s dad convincing her "he is the one" the rest is history. Everyone around them knew they were meant to be together. Fast forward seven years and here they are, where everyone knew they would be, together, in love, getting married.

On September 21, 2019 Robert and Kayla went to Newport, Rhode Island for a long weekend. Initially, the location was picked because they wanted to experience somewhere new. Robert knew Kayla loved the New England coastline and anywhere with sailboats, lighthouses, and a good lobster roll. They checked into their hotel, took a quick nap, and then got ready for what Kayla thought was a typical dinner out on the town. Little did she know, Robert had a lot more up his sleeve, literally. Robert suggested they check out Castle Hill lighthouse before dinner so Kayla could take one of her iconic Instagram pictures. On the way to the lighthouse Kayla was happy and carefree while Robert seemed quiet and preoccupied. They arrived and met another couple enjoying the stunning view. They decided to take a picture and while Robert was placing his jacket, aka hiding place, on the ground Kayla immediately knew what was happening. She could not control her tears of joy. He got down on one knee and they would tell you what he said but they both blacked out in excitement, good thing they have a video. She said yes. Newport, Rhode Island will forever hold a piece of their hearts forever.
