How We Met

9.18.2017

They met at work and quickly became friends. Ami had just transfered from Community Regional Medical Center to Clovis Community Medical Center, something Bryan had done a few years before. Being a senior nurse Bryan showed Ami around and helped her become more familiar with the facility. As the weeks rolled on their friendship blossomed. Ami would run late to work each morning, but Bryan would get their early enough to get her a cup of coffee each morning before they started their day in Surgery. Eventually Ami found herself unable to stay away from him, and he often found himself wandering into her room to help out whenever he could. As they spent more time together a deep and genuine conversation developed about their lives and values. The two shared so many commonalities on their core beliefs that it was almost impossible not to talk to each other. What drew them together most of all was their desire to be closer to the Lord. The first place they met outside of work was the church Ami attended. She invited Bryan to attend a service, and without any hesitstion he jumped at the opportunity. What started off as an amazing friendship and good company steadily grew into something more. At the time it wasn’t clear to them how much they would mean to each other, but as months passed their hearts drew nearer and their love for each other could’t be held back.

The Proposal

08.11.18

One of my good long time friends, Sarah (Maid of Honor) had planned an out of town trip to the beach. It was going a to be a day trip for just the two of us. We had done this same trip before multiple times over the years. I was looking forward to the fresh air, cool breeze, and a little shopping. Little did i know, Bryan had been in contact with Sarah and was planning a little surprise:) I woke up that morning to the sound of our puppy CJ vomiting and hacking continuously. Startled by CJ’s sudden sickness i suggested to Bryan that I should cancel my trip to take CJ to the vet. I really didn’t want to leave CJ in such a sad state. Bryan looked more stressed than me, but with the help of Sarah to convince me to go ahead with the trip as planned. Bryan would bring CJ to the vet as soon as it opened. After an enjoyable drive Sarah and I spent the day together at the coast; enjoying the warm weather and shopping. Unbeknownst to me, while we enjoyed ourselves Bryan feverishly worked on bringing his plans to fruition. As the day drew on the weather got colder and the fog rolled in. I suggested to Sarah that we do dinner and forgo taking pictures on the beach. I couldn’t figure out why she was so insistant on keeping to our schedule! She kept having me try beauty products and makeup in the car before we got out. Finally we made our way down to the beach. Sarah and I started to take a couple photos as i notice from a distant that someone else was taking photos of us. Suddenedly, i see Bryan approaching us about 10 feet away with a bouquet of roses and my close friends and family members at a distant. As we walked closer to them, I hear the song, “A Thousand Years” playing. The signs went up, “will you marry me?” as we walked towards a heart shaped made from rose petals in the sand under a white gazebo. Bryan professes his love for me, kneels down and pops the question:) I said YES!!! Surprised Propsal at Avila Beach, California.
