Alex and Tim grew up less than a mile away from each other, in Waldwick, NJ. Even though they are pretty sure they must have crossed paths at some point during their childhood, it wasn't until after college and countless adventures that they found each other. Well "found" may be a loose term. After Alex moved to Hoboken, her childhood friend, Kate, told her all about this guy that would be perfect for her. Fast forward to the end of June when everyone was talking about Tim's screaming face on the ESPN World Cup commercial. Alex didn't know the guy in the commercial would be her future husband. When Tim got back from Brazil, actually directly after he got off the plane and went to work, he walked into Mikey Squared in Hoboken. He was there to watch the USA play Germany. Little did he know, there was a girl there who was looking to steal his attention away from the game. Exactly one month after they first met, Alex and Tim went on their first date. Tim planned an amazing night out in the city at a tapas restaurant. As they sipped some sangria (okay, a few pitchers) they both knew it was their last first date.
When Tim suggested a last minute trip to Montauk on Mother's Day weekend, Alex gave him a little resistance. Surprising, because she is typically so low maintenace. After coming to her senses, and realizing she would love a weekend getaway in their favorite place, Alex and Tim headed out east for the weekend. When they arrived, they planned to get a drink and try to catch sunset at the Bluffs over looking the ocean. Of course, on the way to the lookout, Tim got pulled over... just as the sun went down. Determined to stick with the plan, they got to Camp Hero State Park and headed up the path, in the dark. When they rounded the corned, Alex saw candle lit lanterns, a blanket, and her favorite bottle of rose champagne. She knew at that moment, what was happening. Tim quickly got down on one knee. He could barely finish his proposal before Alex shouted YES!
