Our wedding is a single day celebration with: 1) Ceremony (10a - 1p) - Outdoors 2) Reception (6p - 11p) - Indoors Both events will be held at The Twisted Tulip. We would love for you to attend both.
Ceremony: We plan to start the ceremony at 10am outdoors. Please plan to arrive by 9:45am so you have ample time to park and get situated. You can wear formal/traditional wear. The ceremony usually lasts 2-3 hours, so please wear something outdoors friendly. Reception: We plan to start the reception at 6pm indoors. Please plan to arrive by 5:45pm so you have ample time to park and get seated. Please wear formal/ethnic wear suitable for a celebration with food, music, and dancing.
Both ceremony and reception will feature Nepali/Indian food, with vegetarian options included. A selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will also be offered during reception. Kindly share any dietary restrictions when you RSVP.
Your presence is the biggest gift! But if really you wish to contribute something, we have set up a newlywed fund in our registry.
Get ready for vibrant colors, joyful music, spiritual rituals, and lots of delicious food. It’s a blend of culture, tradition, and celebration. Don’t worry if you’re unfamiliar, just enjoy the experience! While traditional Nepali wedding ceremonies can be quite lengthy, we’ve shortened ours to focus on a few key rituals: - Janti (Wedding Procession): The groom arrives in a joyful procession with family and friends, accompanied by music and dancing, dressed in traditional attire like the daura suruwal. - Kalash Sthapana: The groom’s party is warmly welcomed at the entrance with sacred water pots and oil lamps. - Vivaha Hom (Sacred Fire Ritual): The couple circles the sacred fire (Agni) and takes seven symbolic steps (Saptapadi), making vows to support and honor each other. - Sindoor and Potey: The groom applies sindoor (vermillion) to the bride’s hair parting and gives her a potey (traditional beaded necklace), symbolizing their marriage. - Ring and Garland Exchange: The bride and groom exchange rings and floral garlands (mala) as a gesture of mutual acceptance and love.
Free parking is available at the venue.
