When people ask how they met, their story sounds like many Christian Indians’ stories—at a christian conference! It was not love at first sight. Instead, it began as a genuine friendship. Each time they ran into each other at conferences or youth retreats, they’d spend hours catching up on life, sharing conversations, and supporting one another through their joys and burdens. After the conversations Princy and Steven would have, it would leave them both feeling encouraged. Throughout the years, family and friends have encouraged both of them to talk and to become more than friends. Princy always thought Steven was always so kind and intentional and had a smile that brightened up the room… literally! However, she didn’t want to ruin a good friendship especially if he didn’t have any feelings for her. Steven, who never saw himself settling down, always considered Princy a good friend and wonderful ministry partner. They had no idea God had a beautiful detour for their relationship. Steven, who had no experience when it came to courtship, decided to take the plunge in a very traditional way when it came to approaching Princy. He told his dad of his interest in Princy earlier this year and his dad decided to call Princy’s dad. From there, both Princy and Steven decided to intentionally pursue each other. When they first started talking, they had difficult discussions about topics including their past, their current struggles, Princy's eventual transition to Houston, and overall conversations about their expectations for their relationship. They would talk frequently and Steven would visit Oklahoma regularly and would hang out with Princy and her family and friends. As time went on, their love grew deeper and they both knew that this was the person God placed in their lives as their soulmate. Steven, not wanting to wait any longer (since he’s getting older and all), decided to propose to Princy in the summer of 2025. He surprised her with a scavenger hunt surrounded by both their family and friends which eventually led to Princy saying yes to Steven’s proposal. Later on that year, Princy and her family and friends traveled to Houston for a more formal engagement ceremony surrounded by loved ones. The Princy and Steven story has been one of God’s faithfulness and providence. They have had to work through issues and differences during this time, which at times were more sanctifying than either of them thought. God had brought two sinners redeemed by grace into an union for His glory and for His kingdom. He has made all things beautiful in His time, and we genuinely praise God for that. We would ask for your prayers as we enter this new season of our lives so that Christ’s light would shine through and we would be living examples for Him.
