Dorian and Shana met in the spring of 2012 when Shana was hired at Ford motor company and then assigned to work in the same area as Dorian. It was not a case of love at first sight.........more like indifference. After initial introductions neither had any interest in getting to know the other any further. In fact, it would be a full year before they had their first conversation, even then it never went beyond simple small talk. Then one day in the winter of 2014 after an early dismissal from work, due to a part shortage. Shana, Dorian, and a few other co-workers decided to go to a local bar and hang out. It was there that Dorian and Shana, outside of the constraints of work, really got a chance to talk in-depth and see what the other was about. From there a friendship started to blossom. A few months later Dorian asked Shana for her phone number so that she could help him plan and party for his 23rd birthday that May ( looking back Shana suspects this was a ruse seeing as though he never spoke about the party again). After exchanging numbers they began talking every day sometimes for ten hours straight! They then began hanging out outside of work, going to kareoke nights, lunch, movies, museums etc. As time went on it was quickly becoming clear to them both that there was something between them. As the summer approached some of their coworkers decided to plan a group trip to vegas in which Shana and Dorian agreed to join. It was while on that trip that they officially became a couple! Now six years later they are more in love than ever and are excited to start their lives together!

Dorian recruited some of Shana's friends to help pull off the greatest surprise proposal of all time! Months before a group of them were set to turn 30 Shana's friends started texting about having a "joint celebration" The idea was that after they each celebrated their birthdays individually, They would get together and have a group celebration. For weeks they had debates about where and when the celebration would be, before finally settling on a nice dinner downtown. All the while Shana was none the wiser that it was all a ruse. As the date approached they discussed outfits and hairstyles all as a scheme to see what Shana had planned. They were even good enough to have one friend invite Shana to the nail shop so they could make sure she had a fresh manicure! The night of the proposal they all hopped in the car and rode downtown. When they arrived at the restaurant (purposely late for the "reservation" ) they were told that their table had been given away. The host told them that they could speak to the manager to see if she could accommodate them. She told them that the manager was on the banquet side of the building. So they walked around to the area of the restaurant where they were told she would be, and there Dorian was waiting down on one knee! After initially running out of the room in shock, Shana returned and answered YES to Dorian's big question!!!!! But that's not where the surprises ended! Immediately after saying yes a false wall which she hadn't noticed before opened up and out came both of their families and friends! The proposal turned into an engagement party with a formal three-course meal!
