We love this place, it's super popular. They've reopened post-fire in a new location and it's swank and fun. Get the Bao! Eat the Garlic Noodle!
There are many Luau options to choose from, most big resort hotels offer their own version. This is our favorite, it's also among the oldest and longest running. It is also a miracle they didn't lose their location to the fire as literally everything else around them burned. The Old Lahaina Luau is located waterside on Front street in Lahaina, directly next door to Aloha Mixed Plate and Star Noodle.
Located in Whaler's Village, this is a staple restaurant for us. Peter Merriman also runs this joint and the cocktails are good enough to prove it. This is a great spot to bring the kids.
This is a special experience, and a new restaurant, but we can confidently recommend it to discerning sushi lovers! They do offer sushi to go, but if you're up for an amazing, curated Omakase experience, book one of the 11 seats for the nightly service and come prepared to have your senses dazzled.
This is a super good local's spot. Located in Napili Plaza, it's a great place to go if you're staying a bit further north from Ka'anapali. Good for lunch or dinner!
Best fish burritos, tacos and sandos on the west side, period.
This place is always slammed, so really try to get a reservation or be ready to poach the walk-in only tables around the bar area (what we always do). The food is excellent, the service is always on point, the drinks are dynamite! The fish here is consistently among the best and freshest we get on West Side.
This is a Kapalua institution and they have great food at good prices with a lovely view of the ocean and sunset.
This is a great spot for breakfast and brunch, and the kids will love the whale shaped pancakes! Located in the Lahaina Gateway Center, there is a good grocery store and some fun shopping options in the same center, and across the street in the Cannery Mall.
We spend a lot of time here, maybe too much... but it's great for getting a quick lunch while you're at the beach. It's also our favorite spot to rendezvous for sunset after a hard day of snorkeling and sunbathing. They always have at least three TVs with the day's games playing. Cliff Dive is located inside the Sheraton Black Rock resort.
This shop is located in Ka'anapali in the Fairway Shops. They're super but also not the best best deal you can get on snorkel gear - that's probably any one of the Snorkel Bob's locations throughout West Maui. However, this link takes you to the Snorkel Store's DAILY Snorkel Report, which drops at 8AM HST every day and can reliably approximate what kind of snorkel day you can look forward to - and more importantly, when conditions are bad and you should choose to play pickleball instead. Snorkel gear rental is a must if you want to find Peter on this trip!
