Our relationship is one built on unwavering love, support, laughter and friendship. We’ve taken the time to write about our story from our own perspectives- Petar: After living in Florida for six years, I was ready to leave. I hadn’t met anyone who truly felt like home, and I was feeling lost. I told myself, One more date. If it doesn’t work out, I’m heading back to Detroit. Well now, here we are! From the moment I met Erica, everything in my life just started clicking. I never imagined that someone as intelligent, goofy, kind-hearted, and absolutely gorgeous as her would walk into my life at just the right time. But she did. And with her came an incredible extended family—the kind of big, loving family I never had growing up. Being around them has been a dream come true. Erica: My fiancée is the love of my life. He makes me feel so special, at peace, loved, and supported; he is truly my best friend. I know this all may sound cliché, but how else am I supposed to describe this incredible man who came into my life and changed it forever? The way that he loves me is something I hope everyone can have the privilege to experience. Hints of this were evident, even on date one. We were at a wine bar, where he introduced me to his favorite red—Bordeaux. I had ordered my favorite—Cabernet. When we tasted each, I decided I liked his better (I think we both did). And, without hesitation, he gave me his. Absolutely insisted upon it. And, the rest of our relationship has followed suit. He always puts me first, and my happiness is his top priority (and mine is his, of course). So, when he asked me to marry him, at the same spot where we had our second date, it was the easiest, most resounding "Yes!" When I envision our marriage, I know it will be filled with more of the same: love, support, and so much laughter. We can't wait to celebrate our love with all of our favorite people!
