There are charming inns, wineries, and hotels in and around Palisade, as well as more options in nearby Grand Junction. If you're not into the Airbnb thing, check out some options below. Spoke and Vine The Homestead Wine Country Inn Camp Eddy Basecamp RV Resort The Maverick https://www.visitgrandjunction.com/places-to-stay/ https://www.visitpalisade.com/where-to-stay
Dress code: Cocktail attire BUT if you feel called to sport cowboy boots, a hat or a fun belt buckle, bring it on. Ashley - do your thing, girl. Chris - no jeans. Maggie is actively trying to get Steven to wear a bolo tie (Editors Note: she's failing in that endeavor).
Palisade typically has sunny, dry weather with warm days and cooler nights. Be sure to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and a light jacket for the evening. The weather can be unpredictable, so be prepared. September can be very hot still. Keep the altitude in mind - it's no joke! Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate - especially if you plan on partaking in the local wine scene.
Palisade is famous for its wineries, fruit orchards, and outdoor activities. You can enjoy wine tasting, biking along scenic routes, hiking, or visiting local farms and markets. Not only is Palisade a hidden gem, but the surrounding areas of Grand Junction and Fruita have endless activities to fill your day! If you have the time, we highly recommend taking a little road trip to Moab, UT - truly Mars on Earth (90 minutes from Grand Junction). Support our National Parks! The bride demands it! If you don't feel like making the drive, the Colorado National Monument, just outside of Grand Junction, is a beautiful way to spend a day in the valley. Some favorite local eats: - If you are looking to get fancy, we can't recommend Pêche highly enough. Incredible food and even better service. Make a reservation now! - Fidel's for some taco's and margs? Don't mind if we do. - For breakfast, 13 Brix Cider Bistro hits every time. Some favorite wineries (outside of Peachfork of course): - Bookcliff Vineyards - Carlson Vineyards - Carboy Winery Some other helpful resources: https://www.visitpalisade.com/things-to-do https://www.visitpalisade.com/what-to-eat https://www.nps.gov/colm/index.htm https://www.visitgrandjunction.com/things-to-do/outdoor-recreation/biking-trails/ https://www.visitgrandjunction.com/food-and-drink/craft-beverages/breweries/
We recommend arriving at least a day early so you can settle in and enjoy the area. Please plan to arrive at the ceremony venue at least 15–30 minutes before the start time (4:30pm).
No thanks! We prefer a phone-free ceremony - our eyes are up here.
Your presence is the present! We recognize this is a long trip for everyone and expect nothing on top of that... but if you insist: https://www.zola.com/registry/maggieandstevenseptember5
Pre-wedding day, please feel free to reach out to Steven or Maggie with any questions, concerns or needs. But on the day of the wedding, contact Maggie with any questions and it may be the last time you ever speak to her. Steven's around.
