Wedding Party

Gabrielle James

Matron of Honor

We have been friends since middle school-6th grade. We met one sunny day during lunchtime when Gabby was eating caramel out of a bag turned upside down on her hand. From afar it looked so strange that I asked her what she was eating. She told me apples and caramel and then offered to share. The rest is history. From sleepovers to first dates, graduations, birthdays, and other life events we have always supported each other. I was her Maid of Honor when she married her best friend so it only makes sense that she is my Matron of Honor when I do the same.

This is the color palette Dawn Shores. I am hoping guests can try and find outfits in these colors to help with photography aesthetics.

The ring Paul gave me as a "loaner" ring. I was told I couldn't keep it ... because I was going to go design my own.

Dewey Destin's Harborside

202 Harbor Boulevard, Destin, FL 32541

Seafood restaurant rich in history. The Destin family and Destin, Florida have been intertwined since Dewey’s great, great grandfather, Leonard Destin, founded the town in 1835. The adventure began when Leonard Destin, his father, George, and his brother, William, set out from New London, Connecticut with three ships. Unfortunately, in 1835, after running into a hurricane near Cape Canaveral, Florida, two of the ships, and Leonard’s father and brother, were lost at sea. As Leonard continued on, he came upon the beautiful shores of what would now be called "Destin." Just like that, the world's luckiest fishing village was born. The Destin family now honors Leonard's love of the water by serving fresh, sustainable seafood in their family owned restaurants in three locations along the Gulf Coast including two in Destin and one in Navarre.

Harbor Docks

538 Harbor Boulevard, Destin, FL 32541

Harbor Docks has been a Destin seafood restaurant tradition since 1979. When you’re looking for fresh seafood and exceptional service, look no further than Harbor Docks.

Camille’s at Crystal Beach offers the freshest seafood that can be found on the Gulf Coast. A sister restaurant to Harbor Docks, Camille’s at Crystal Beach in Destin serves Gulf seafood that is caught in local waters by local fisherman and unloaded right on the dock at Harbor Docks Seafood Market, ensuring a Gulf to Table experience.

Miramar Beach

Miramar Beach, FL

The beaches that compare to the Emerald Coast are few and far between. Destin is home to magnificent white-sugar sand beaches that make visiting here unforgettable! The powdery grains of sand make a distinctive "squeak" noise as you walk through to find your ideal spot. But did you know that Destin gets its unique white sand from the Appalachian Mountains? Our sand is made up of bits of quartz crystals that have been washed off the Appalachian Mountains for thousands of years. As it is carried through rivers, it eventually finds its way to the Gulf of Mexico. It ultimately finds its home in Destin, making our beaches something truly majestic.

FAQs

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Guests are encouraged to wear beach casual attire in one of the color options as can be seen in the color palette Dawn Shores. This helps with photography aesthetics. Sandals and flats are recommended as the yacht has stairs and wood floors. Men are fine to wear flip flops or boat shoes. Dress shorts are an acceptable option for men. Ladies may want to wear shorter dresses( not floor length) since their are stairs on the boat. Sunglasses and sunscreen for the ceremony may be necessary for some. For the evening, a light sweater may come in handy as we are hoping for a cool ocean breeze.

Question

How far is the ceremony from the reception?

Answer

The drive time is about 20-22 minutes (+/- a few mins) depending on traffic. Keep in mind Destin is a small town, but is not walkable.

Question

Answer

You will likely need to rent a car. The airport is about a 45-50minute drive from most hotels. You can probably get an Uber/Lyft if needed but you would need to take that everywhere. There are hotels outside of Destin in the Fort Walton area which is about a 20 minute drive from Destin. I recommend looking at driving distances between the wedding venue and other rpoibts of interest to ensure you are not too far away.
