Formal or Black-Tie Optional: For men, a tuxedo isn't required, but it can still be worn, if preferred. Just consider it a day when you can wear that fancy suit you only wore once, if you want. For women, the outfit choices remain the same as black-tie affairs: a floor-length gown, a fancy cocktail dress, or a dressy pantsuit. Whatever makes you feel most comfortable when eating and dancing!

Flight
This is Merida's airport. You can get here from Mexico city using airlines such as Aeromexico and Viva Aerobus. It is also possible to reach the city from Cancun, another popular destination in Mexico. However, there are no flights from there. Instead, one has to take a bus from Cancun to Merida with ADO (the bus company) or the Tren Maya (train service). We do recommend you check this on the Rome2Rio website as they offer information in English. The train service departs from Cancun Airport to Merida.
We'll post our registry here when we're finished building it. Thank you in advance!

Welcome to Mérida, the vibrant heart of the Yucatán Peninsula and a city that feels like a beautiful step back in time. As the cultural capital of the region, Mérida blends deep Maya roots with colorful colonial charm, featuring stunning pastel-hued architecture, bustling plazas, and warm hospitality. Known as one of Mexico’s safest and most romantic cities, this is a place where history meets modern elegance. Throughout our weekend, we’ll be surrounded by lush haciendas—grand, historic estates that now serve as magical, tropical backdrops for celebration. We chose this destination for its unique atmosphere: think candlelit evenings, incredible Yucatecan cuisine, nearby ancient ruins, and a truly magical setting to celebrate our love with all of you.
We are thrilled to welcome you to Mérida in December, which is widely considered the absolute best time of year to visit the Yucatán Peninsula! Days: Expect warm, sunny days with highs around 82°F–85°F (28°C–29°C), perfect for outdoor ceremonies and exploring. Evenings: The air cools down to a comfortable 65°F–68°F (18°C–20°C), making for refreshing nights. Rain: December is in the dry season, so rain is minimal and usually limited to very brief, light showers. What to Pack: Lightweight clothing for the day, and a light jacket or sweater for the evenings, as it can feel chilly to locals after sunset.
Mérida is considered one of the most affordable cultural capitals in Mexico, offering high value compared to coastal resort hubs like Cancún or Tulum. What is the budget for a daily trip to Mérida? Budget traveler: Approx. $48 USD / MX$870 per day. Mid-range/Colonial Luxury: Up to $537 USD / MX$9,720 per day, depending on accommodation choices. How much does food cost in Mérida? Local Tacos/Street Food: Approx. MX$20–$35 each. Breakfast/Lunch: Roughly MX$100–$200. Dinner: Around MX$300+. Tip: Eating at local markets is significantly cheaper than eating in tourist-centric restaurants. What are the prices like in the rest of the Yucatan (e.g., Tulum/Playa del Carmen)? The Yucatan Peninsula has a wide range of prices. Coastal spots like Playa del Carmen and Cancún are often 3x more expensive than inland towns. How much does transportation cost? Uber/Didi: Extremely affordable and often preferred to taxis. Car Rentals: Can cost around €632 for 3 weeks, but this varies. Tip: Walking in the historic center of Mérida is free and easy. What is the best way to handle money? Currency: Mexican Peso ($MXN). Cash vs. Card: While higher-end restaurants and shops accept cards, you must have pesos for street food, small stalls, and local markets. ATMs: Avoid independent or hotel ATMs. Use bank ATMs (e.g., Citibanamex) which often charge lower fees (approx. MX$35–$179, depending on the bank). How much should I tip? Tipping is expected. 10–15% is standard, but 15–20% is appreciated for good service in tourist areas.
