We hope you'll spend a couple days exploring the San Juan Mountains. There's lot to do, from hiking to touring old mines, or simply sitting outside in the fresh air. Here are just a few options to get you started!

Silverton Summer Sounds

Friday, June 9th 6pm-9pm Silverton Memorial Park Silverton Summer Sounds is a free open-air music series produced by Silverton Creative District. This family-friendly event features food, drinks, and free live music outside in the park.

Silverton Memorial Park

This lovely neighborhood park has picnic tables, a playground, a large field, and a little trail to Cement Creek. Not to mention big mountain views!

Ouray Brewery

The town of Ouray is about 45 minutes from Silverton and worth a visit. Have a beer and burger on the brewery's rooftop surrounded by amazing mountain views.

Ouray Hot Springs

Bathe in the hot mineral waters of Ouray. You can purchase a day pass and hop between the five pools filled with geothermal water. About 45 minutes from Silverton.

Perimeter Trail

Perimeter Trail, Ouray, CO

Head out on this 6.5 mile hike around the town of Ouray for some sweeping views. The trailhead is about 23 mi from Silverton.

Andrews Lake Trail

Andrews Lake Rd, Durango, CO 81301

This easy 1 mile hike is perfect for all ages and abilities. The beginning of the trail is paved and wheelchair accessible. There are also great spots to fish and lounge by the lake. Take it easy and enjoy!

Molas Lake

U.S. 550, Silverton, CO 81433

Take in views of the San Juan National Forest at Big and Little Molas lakes. The lakes are about 7 miles from the town of Silverton.

Ice Lake Basin

Hike through the San Juan National Forest to a clear blue alpine lake. Jen & Andy hiked this trail last summer— it’s a tough one but magical! Keep in mind that much of the trail is still snow covered at this time. The trailhead is about 7 miles from the town of Silverton.

Old Hundred Gold Mine Tour

Go on a guided mine tour that takes you 1/3 mile into the heart of 13,000 foot Galena Mountain. Located minutes from the town of Silverton.

The Silverton Steam Train

E 12th St, Silverton, Colorado 81433

Take a 3.5hr scenic train ride that travels between Silverton and Durango. If you'll be spending time in Durango, check out the free Railroad Museum.
