He met me at my sickest, in fact, I always joke that the hospital was our first date because he was the officer who transported me. We both work at the Department of Corrections in Oklahoma. He’s an officer and I’m a correctional case manager. On that fateful day, I was helping serve dessert for employee appreciation week. I had not started my treatments yet and I fell ill frequently. I ended up having an adrenal crisis that day and Dustin rushed me to the hospital. While waiting for care he had asked if I had anyone showing up for me. I had told him no I’m used to being alone and my family is helping take care of my grandpa. And he said he feels bad for leaving me in the hospital alone because everyone in the hospital deserves someone to show up for them so they don’t go through it alone. Then he said that anytime I was alone to let him know and he’ll show up. He stayed my entire stay that day and every hospital visit after that he showed up and never left my side. Since that first hospital trip he has really never left my side. Even with the scares, treatment, medication being my life support, the diagnosis of a second life threatening illness. Knowing how difficult this journey with me would be…he still stayed. I met my best friend that day. I truly feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have him by my side ❤️

I know the wedding is a year out, but we are planning on getting everything done ahead of time. We never know when I could fall ill and us planning ahead ensures that we keep the wedding running on schedule and running smoothly. Right now getting contacts to RSVP is our main focus so we can get those final estimates. You can change or update your RSVP with me at anytime. The contact info given will be automatically notified of any MAJOR changes with the wedding when you RSVP. (example if the wedding date is having to be pushed out due to me falling sick) You’re taking time to share this special moment with us and we want to make sure your time is respected and that you know your time is appreciated. Dustin and I, are planning and paying for the wedding ourselves. So we are pretty busy with working extra hours, getting decorations, raising kiddo’s and managing my health. With that being said, we apologize in advance if it takes us 1-2 days to respond.

We’ve also attached fun things to do around the area. Whether you are planning on doing fun stuff before the wedding or plan on staying a few days. Let’s talk about our kiddo’s! Dustin and I, are blessed beyond measure to have these sweet little lives wrapping us in hugs any chance they get. The wedding is not just our day it’s their day too. So, Dustin and I, are dedicating and incorporating a special song and dance for each of our little humans. To celebrate them and let them know that they mean more to us than anything in the world. Celebrate us coming together and being one big happy family. These songs are meant to be fun and silly and we ask for our guest to be silly on the dance floor with us during the dedications. So we can celebrate our tiny humans individually ❤️

To all my Texas family, APD family, and friends who witnessed, stood by my side and supported through all the hurt and suffering that I experienced with “who shall not be named”. I love and appreciate you more than you could ever imagine. You never had a chance to meet Dustin…I just wanted to let you know that I found a good one. With the happiest tears..I found a good one. He’s a good man. There’s not enough words to describe how truly incredible he is. But I’m going to do my best to say it here. He has the biggest heart of gold, He’s strong, he’s patient and kind. He won’t let me open any doors. He makes sure that he’s opening every door and greets me with hugs that sweep me off my feet. When I’m weak he carries me, he takes every opportunity to sing to me, joke with me, make me laugh and dance with me. He supports me in every possible way. He encourages me, he tells me that I am worthy. He brings me flowers, kisses my forehead, he helps take off my shoes. He goes out of his way to make breakfast, lunch and dinner for me. He’s such an amazing daddy to his babies and to mine! He’s our anchor, my boys even call him chef Dusty. He fills the walls of our home with warmth and laughter. He’s our protector, our Mr.fix it and home to the funniest dad humor. He fought over seas and is an officer, He is opening a cupcakery. He really can do anything and everything. He’s our provider and to the boys he’s the man who loves and takes care of their mom and is the man they can be silly with. When it comes to my health. He’s never missed a hospital stay, he advocates for me and he is on a journey to help me get better and find a cure. He rubs my feet, holds my hand, he fills the hospital room with laughter and makes me forget about how cold a hospital can be. I know you haven’t met him but I hope that you get a chance to meet the most incredible man in my life. You’d be so happy to know that my prayer was answered the moment he came into my life ❤️
