Once upon a time, back in June 2022, I received an advice from a friend saying, “You should try Bumble, you’re single but you don’t go out and you can filter whatever you want”. The truth is, I am getting old, I also don’t go out and filtering whatever I want sounds interesting to me. Two weeks later, I downloaded the app only to delete it. I am still apprehensive about dating apps. Another week passed and I decided to really give it a go. June 26, 2022 and the first few ones I got from the Philippines proved why I was hesitant about dating apps. So I thought, I have an upcoming flight to Japan in January and I was also planning to go for my birthday in November. I decided to change my location to Japan and that’s when our story began. Of all the creepy guys I came across on the app, I found this one guy, a guy with a tattoo at the back of his hand from my favorite book. I felt safe. We share a lot of common things and our views aligned. My initial plan to go to Japan in November and January became a monthly visit. I wanted us celebrate his birthday together in December and how can we skip on February right? Looking back now, I can say that I would travel miles just to be with him. Shortly after my January trip, we made it official in January 26, 2023. I finally made him say yes lol. July 11, 2024. 1 year and 6 months later, after 8 trips to Japan and 1 trip to Philippines, he knelt down on one knee and made me say yes. Who would've thought that after all these years, after all the past heartbreaks, my soulmate is no where near me? I wouldn't. But it's okay because all those things are worth it for I found the best guy I could've asked for. I found Jason. And now, from two hearts born miles and miles apart, Jason and I could not be more excited to finally be together and start the next chapters of our lives together. P.S. I would proudly remind him and tell everyone how I loved him first because I know, I made the right choice once upon a Hamilton.
