Olarinde: I went on a personal retreat at RCCG Redemption Camp. I got there and I was trying to book a chalet for myself and I met a man who brought a group of people to the same location for a retreat. He helped me get a room with the church and then invited me to their retreat. He said something along the lines of "I don't think it's a coincidence we met like this. I think you should join us for our retreat, it could be that God has something for you there". How right he was! I joined them and that was where I met Esther. During the retreat, we were told to hold hands in 3s. I held hands with Esther and one other lady. The lady fell under power and there was just Esther and I. Then I heard a very still small voice within me that said "This is your wife". I was angry with myself because I thought those were my own thoughts. I mean, who comes for a retreat and is thinking about wife, right? I just wanted FIRE! (Now I wish I could insert emojis into this). I dismissed the voice and continued my thing sha. After the retreat, we (Me, Esther and a few other people) got talking about Apostle Selman, Apostle Arome and some other Kingdom topics. I exchanged numbers with her and a few other people, they left and I continued with my personal retreat I came there for. We didn't really talk after that but in November 2021, we were both interested in attending Dunsin Oyekan's The Outpouring and we went together. This was where our friendship started but we didn't start dating until September 2022 after 9 months of waiting. Omo, wetin my eyes see ehn! Thank God for that fruit of the Spirit called Patience. Lol Esther: We first met at the Seekers' Retreat, a prayer program. However, our first meaningful encounter was at the end of the retreat when a group of us gathered outside, waiting for transportation. He joined us, and we struck up a conversation. After exchanging contact information, we went our separate ways. A few weeks later, I noticed that we were both interested in attending a program called The Outpouring on the Island. It was my first year in Lagos, and I wasn’t yet familiar with many areas of the city. Given that the event was likely to end late, I didn't want to go alone. When I saw him post details about the program on his WhatsApp status, I reached out. He responded kindly, answered all my questions, and encouraged me to attend. Eventually, we went together, and that day marked the beginning of our friendship. We bonded during our conversations on the way to the event and throughout the program. This happened in November 2021, just a week before I went through a breakup with my then-boyfriend. After the breakup, I confided in him, and he was there to console me. A few weeks, he asked me out, but I wasn’t ready for a new relationship at the time. It took me about nine months to finally say yes, and we officially started dating on September 1, 2022.
