We first met online in 2011. At the time, I was living in Alaska, and Pantsais was in Wisconsin. After a few months of chatting, I decided to visit Wisconsin for the Labor Day tournament, where we finally met in person at the Oshkosh tournament. We spent most of the day together, but since she was hanging out with one of her friends, it felt like I was a bit of a third wheel. After that, I had to head back to Alaska, and we only got to spend one or two days together. Back home in Alaska, I still wanted to pursue a relationship with Pantsais, but the long distance was a challenge. She knew it wouldn’t work for her, so we slowly drifted apart and stopped talking. Fast forward ten years, and we reconnected on Facebook when Pantsais reached out and added me. I was surprised—she seemed to have moved on with her life, and I thought she might be married with kids. To my surprise, she was still single, just like me! We started talking again, and this time, we both had a clearer idea of what we wanted in a partner. After about six months, I asked her to be my girlfriend on September 1, 2022. From there, things moved quickly, and on January 27, 2024, I proposed. We had our Hmong wedding on May 18, 2024, and the final chapter of our marriage journey will be our American wedding on September 7, 2025. We hope you’ll join us one last time to celebrate this next chapter in our lives!
