Noel's friend Amanda convinced her to come over to her home in Denver, CO the day she got back from Florida. She had major jet lag and was pretty exhausted but wanted to see her friend as it had been over a week. Noel walked into the house and was greeted by Amanda and this guy she was seeing. He quizzed Noel for 20 minutes only to respond with, "You need to meet my friend Eli." It was already 7:00p and she was exhausted, plus there was no way she was going somewhere out of her way to meet some guy. Meanwhile, the guy was messaging Eli and saying that Noel wanted to meet him. Eli had just finished work and was already up the mountain, an hour from Amanda's house. It took some convincing but Amanda finally got Noel in her car and they were off. Fast forward and they approached the house. Noel wasn't really looking for anything as she was focusing on herself at that point in time. She walked up the stairs and they immediately locked eyes. On the other side, Eli also wasn't looking for anything and was working towards his goals. He didn't believe that they were all on the way up to the house until he and Noel met each others gaze. Eli described it perfectly, it was an uncomfortable comfortability. It was like they had known each other for awhile, yet still wanted to inquire to know everything about each other. Eli and Noel's first date was a 4 night, 5 day camping, climbing, and rafting trip in Salida, CO. There they also went to Mt. Princeton hot springs. That trip was the beginning of their love story. Their life has come full circle as they are getting married at the very place they started to fall in love. They are looking forward to celebrating the union of their love with all of you!
Eli and Noel took Tuesday July 11th off to go check out the Redwoods in Northern California. The Avenue of the Giants was the destination for the day. They typed Avenue of the Giants into Apple Maps and off they went. The first stop was at Confusion Hill. This stop is made up of optical illusions, a gravity house, a train ride, and a whole lot more questions that you'll have after visiting. Directions led them off the correct route to Shelter Cove on the coast. They were about two hours away from Avenue of the Giants at that point. On their way back to the 101 to head in the right direction, they stopped for a quick bite to eat. Finally they reach the Avenue of the Giants. Noel wanted to check out the drive-through Redwoods. They were originally going to check out the "Chandelier Drive Thru Tree" but they were already closer to the "Shrine Drive Thru Tree". Parked and ready to go inside, they pay the fee and walk in. Walking around and checking everything out they decided to go take some pictures inside the tree. Eli suggested a photo timer, as they'd used before for pictures so Noel thought nothing of it. By the third picture, he was down on his knee asking for Noel to marry him. The rest is history! They're so excited to celebrate this next chapter of their lives with you. See you at Mt. Princeton Hot Springs!!
