It all started on a dating app called Hinge. He swiped right on my perfectly curated profile where there was a talking prompt that said, "Don't hate me if I say I'm not hungry, then steal half your fries." His response? "So where am I taking you for those fries?" I swooned. We talked on the app for a literal month, because I decided to get a really bad case of the flu, AND THEN COVID. But we finally met for our first date at a coffee shop named "Just Love". He made me feel calm, he really listened, and he was pretty to look at so I knew I was down for a second date. On our second date, he did two things that really told me that this could last... First, we could get into really serious topics like race relations and our journey with God and the bible. Second, he found ways to remind me that he thinks of me during the days that we weren't together. Mostly by bringing little treats he had seen throughout the week that he thought I would like. Slowly, we went from a date every week or two, to solid weekly dates, to two days a week, to now spending all our free time together, and it has all felt so natural. In December, lots of life events started happening. First, I graduated with my Associates of science in nursing, then on January 15th, we had our one year anniversary, AND my official move to living with Jon. Then, on January 26th I took my NCLEX and became a Registered Nurse. On the 28th we took a staycation in Atlanta to celebrate all the wonderful things in our lives and especially our anniversary and there, after the most amazing dinner, Jon asked me to "marry him or nah?" It was the perfect moment for us and a memory I will cherish forever. -Madison Grace This is an example of staying true to who you are and finding the one for you. We were honest with each other from the jump. Because of that we could have easily not went past the first date. The fact that we're actually here in this moment proves the strength of our bond. - Jon
