The Invisible String Theory

The Invisible String Theory: The idea that the universe keeps two people apart until the timing is right. Lauren and Noah's story begins in Montgomery County, Maryland, where they were both born. When Lauren was three years old, her family moved to a neighborhood just five minutes from Noah’s grandparents. Both families spent summers at Lakewood Country Club, where Lauren and Noah learned to swim mere feet from one another, never realizing their futures were quietly intertwined. In 2006, Noah's family relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, putting even more distance between the two. Summers for Noah were spent at Camp Wise, while Lauren found her home at Capital Camps—where, coincidentally, Noah’s dad had once been a founding counselor. As teens, they both became deeply involved in BBYO, a shared passion that eventually brought Noah to a convention held at Capital Camps—where Lauren was a camper. At Ohio State, Noah’s freshman year roommate (and now Best Man) had also been a counselor at Capital Camps, unknowingly connecting another thread. Meanwhile, Lauren studied Community and Nonprofit Leadership at the University of Wisconsin. After graduating, she returned to the DC area to work for none other than BBYO. Around the same time, Noah also landed a job in DC. Eventually, they both downloaded Hinge. Lauren agreed to a date with Noah after spotting a familiar face—someone she had worked with at Capital Camps—in one of his photos. And so, on a Wednesday night at The Admiral, that invisible string that had quietly tied their lives together for decades finally pulled tight.
