I like to tell Noah that all along he was my invisible string; Noah likes to say that God made us for each other. Either way, we simply made our way to each other and God has greater plans for us together. We met in college, through my boss at Meadowlark Ski Lodge. However, the timing wasn't just right yet and we had a lot to figure out as we were both young and just wanting to graduate. Fast forward to my senior year of nursing school. I was back home in Buffalo, WY finishing my capstone project. Noah was in Buffalo at the same time as me, but we never ran into each other. Shocking, as my town only has one gym that we both frequented (never at the same time) and only a few grocery stores and places to go. Again, it just wasn't the right time for us. But, one day when I was completing interviews for nursing jobs in Colorado, Noah reached out to me. I was completely surprised as the only "run ins" we've had were at the famous BuckHorn Bar (Noah still disagrees that it was at Roxie's, but I'm pretty sure I'm right on this). I said "yes" to drinks and the rest is kind of history. I didn't make it easy on us by moving to Colorado to pursue my career in nursing, and it wasn't easy as Noah was getting his private and commercial pilot license. We stayed really good friends for a REALLY long time. And somehow, I still managed to have a picture of myself with the Iberlin family on their fridge. Fast forward to August 7th, 2023 where Noah came to Denver to visit me. I love to hike, and Noah somehow agrees to go on every hike with me, even if I detour us a couple of miles here and there. We hiked 10 miles to Mohawk Lakes in Breckenridge with only a granola bar and some water (I think I was just testing how strong he was to deal with how hangry I can get). At the top of hike, at the very last lake, Noah officially made us official. Not only did I get to start this journey with my best friend, I also got the best breakfast burrito after we made it down the mountain. Noah and I have made some amazing memories in the two years we've been dating. Many rodeos, concerts, hikes, trail runs and mountain biking, weddings, and more... the list could go on. Noah is my perfect compliment. I thank God every day that He brought us together exactly when the time was right. Another two years goes by, and Noah took us back to the place where it all started. We've learned through the years that it's best to eat before a big day of hiking. After the best breakfast Frisco, CO has to offer, we were on a mission to get to the final lake where I knew that Noah was my forever person two years ago. Per usual, I was in my own world, and little did I know that Noah was practicing opening a ring box the way up. I was just so happy to have made it to the final lake and Noah had other plans instead. With a camera set up to capture a picture of us together two years later, Noah ended up on one knee asking me to marry him. It was an absolute shock, the best surprise, and the easiest yes I've ever said. Loving Noah is the easiest thing I've ever done. He truly is my best friend and I cannot wait to spend forever loving him.
The first time that I met Izzy was at Meadowlark Ski Area. She was working there and I was there skiing with my family. Her boss told me that I have to meet her and he set up for us to ski together. We skied for most of the afternoon until she had to go back to work and at the end of the day, I built up the courage to ask for her number. We both went back to school at the University of Wyoming, and it just wasn’t the time for us, but our story wasn't done. A few years went by and happened to run into Izzy at the bar. She swears it was The Buck, but it was actually at Roxie’s. We talked for a bit and would go our separate ways. Shortly after that I would ask Izzy out to grab drinks. We sat and talked for a good long while and realized that after that first encounter of meeting each other, we were closer than we thought. We both frequented the YMCA in Buffalo which is about the only gym. Along with always missing each other at the only two grocery stores in Buffalo. It seemed that God just had planned for us to be together. After those drinks we began seeing each other more and more. She had started her nursing career in Colorado, and I was finishing my Pilot licenses. Izzy likes to say that I took forever to ask her out and just wanted to be “really good friends”. I thought I would just test her patience and I think she passed. Izzy and I loved to hike together so I thought a hike would be the perfect place to ask her out. She picked out a beautiful hike in Breckinridge CO. Little did I know that it was going to be a ten-mile hike (Izzy is in a lot better shape than me) but I survived. Once we got to the top and I caught my breath I thought it would be the perfect place to ask her out. She thankfully said yes and that place would end up becoming one of our favorite spots. Fast forward two years, and Izzy had been dropping hints about wanting a ring on her finger. Luckily, she gave me some ideas on what ring she wanted. I would have been lost in the jewelry store. I finally got one picked out and just had to wait for them to finish it. I got the call that the ring was done while I was at work and knew I was going to propose when I was done with my trip but didn’t know how I was going to get the ring. Luckily my brother was able to pick it up for me and bring it with him on his trip. The morning of the proposal I told Izzy that I needed to meet my brother at the Denver airport to grab some things from him. Little did she know that I was getting the ring. Once I was able to get it from Christian, we started our drive to Breckenridge to one of our favorite breakfast places. We would then drive to the same hike I asked her to be my girlfriend. While hiking to the top I was practicing opening and closing the box to make sure I didn’t spew anything up on the proposal. I was also practicing the speech I came up with in my head. We finally got to the top and it was time. I really didn’t get too far in my speech before I forgot it because I was too nervous. I finally got the words out and asked her to marry me and again she thankfully said yes. Izzy is my built-in best friend and has been my biggest supporter. Everything we do together she just makes it that much more fun. I’m truly honored to get to spend the rest of my life with her and cherish every moment.
