FAQs

Question

Are our kids invited?

Answer

Of course! We are so happy to celebrate with all of the little ones. Please just be aware that our reception and ceremony are at an art museum and we do not have specific childcare planned. Our venue for our Welcome Dinner does have a dedicated room where we plan to have some games and a movie playing for them. If you have any specific questions, please let us know.

Question

Do we have to wear Indian clothes?

Answer

Not at all! Please wear what makes you feel comfortable and fabulous. Dresses of any length, jumpsuits, semi-formal to formal suits are all great options. Cocktail attire (Indian and otherwise) for the Welcome Dinner is suggested.

Question

What if I want to wear Indian clothes but don't know where to shop?

Answer

Here are a few online stores. Look at options for lehengas, selvar suits, shararas, and anarkali styles. Saris tend to be a little tricky to drape unless you're a pro at following YouTube videos. I haven't personally bought from these retailers, so please take them with a grain of salt and consider shipping times and possible tariffs since many of the items ship from India. https://www.thesareeroom.com https://www.perniaspopupshop.com https://www.kalkifashion.com (men- look at Kurta sets and women) Amazon surprisingly sometimes has good options, but check reviews. Feel free to run anything by Nivi and Yash :)

Question

Any colors to wear or any to avoid?

Answer

Nope! If you've got something festive in your closet that you've been wanting to wear, but had nowhere to go, this is your chance. Bring out the sequins, embroidery, color and funky jewelry. No colors are off limits (even black and white).

Question

What's on the menu?

Answer

We're planning for a buffet at both events. The menu leans vegetarian, but there will be a few meat options and gluten-free options as well. If you have any severe allergies, please let us know and we will ensure that you have an allergen-free plate from our caterer.
