Things To Do

Falls Park on the Reedy

601 South Main Street, Greenville, SC 29601

If you ask for directions and someone tells you “down at the park,” they probably mean Falls Park on the Reedy. Even though it is by no means our only or our biggest park, it is our downtown park, created in what is generally considered the very spot that Mr. Vardry McBee erected his gristmill (a gristmill being where folks grind grain into flour). So to turn the wheels of progress, Mr. McBee needed running water, and the Reedy River had it. Today, water still has power as it draws us all downtown to stroll along the banks of the river, walk our furry four-legged friends and spread a picnic with our friends and family. The park has dozens of small gardens within it that bloom through the collaborative efforts of many of the town’s citizens and offer natural beauty all year round.

Yee-Haw Brewing Company

307 East McBee Avenue, Greenville, SC 29601
, (864) 605-7770

Whether you’re an exacting aficionado of obscure flavors, styles and techniques or someone who simply savors a couple cold ones with friends, there’s no perfect prescription for how to enjoy great beer. There is, however, a reason to insist on precise standards and exceptional quality. OLD TRADITIONS & NEW BEGINNINGS At Yee-Haw, they bridge the gap between tradition and innovation pretty well, by taking pride in what they do and keep their focus on the flavor. This means creating "riffs" on classic, internationally beloved beer styles—keeping it in the ballpark of the greats—while making room for their own exceptional home-runs.

Mice on Main: The Scavenger Hunt

Main Street, Greenville, SC

In a lot of cities, the last thing you want to see is a mouse. This isn’t the case in Greenville, where nine bronze mice have taken up permanent residence along our celebrated Main Street. Conceived as part of Jim Ryan’s high school senior project (back in 2000) and inspired by the children’s book Goodnight Moon, the mice were brought to life by local sculptor and illustrator Zan Wells. Author Linda Kelly joined the team and “Mice on Main” has become a beloved Greenville institution—from the scavenger hunt to the children's book, board game, and T-shirts. Using the clues to hunt for each mouse makes a stroll along Main Street extra fun for kids of all ages. Greenville’s bronze mice are spaced out on one side of Main Street or the other, from the Hyatt Regency to the Westin Poinsett. Use the clues to find all nine mice! Happy hunting! 🧀
