We can't wait to see you all so soon! Remember, sunscreen, jackets, and water :) We can't wait to celebrate at camp Lipski/Magnuson!!!
After making the trek cross country and moving to Colorado in September 2021, my sister and I stumbled upon our church (Restoration) where we had visited for the first time in May a few months prior. I remember, (although he may recall otherwise), meeting Nick for the first time at an event we served together while being involved with “The Brook” college ministry at Denver University. We remained friends for quite some time getting to know one another during group friend hangs and serving alongside each other at church. I’ve always admired Nick from a distance with how loyal, disciplined, and servant-hearted he was and still is for all of his friends, family, and community at RST and in Denver. Back in October of 2022 my family came to town to visit. After picking them up from the airport on the way back home, my poor car, Mags, was a victim of an unfortunate hit and run that left her in need of a pretty gnarly butt lift. :( The first person that came to my mind to help me and my damsel in distress of a Subaru was Nick. As per one of my love languages, I proceeded to send him extensive audio messages explaining my situation which ended up shifting our friendship into……the texting zone. The first time Nick and I spent ANY one-on-one time together was in our little realm of back and forth iMessages that led to him checking out my car 🙈. To preface, I swear I did not have any feelings for Nick during this time!!! However, in December of 2022, I created a group chat with Nick, my sister, and our friend, Deon and took it upon myself to volunteer Nick to host a dinner at his house. I have never been over prior (although Nick would interject by stating that I’ve always been invited 🤚), where I offered to cook dinner for us and spend some quality time together because they were the first friends I wanted to pray with and disclose my desire to move to Germany and apply for the Steiger Missions school. I remember so distinctly… as I was cooking and helping myself to Nick’s kitchen, all discombobulated, and attempting to use all of his supplies for the first time, I needed to reach for the olive oil on his counter. When he handed it over to me, I will never forget the amount of butterflies floating around in my belly as he was standing next to me and watching me probably all flustered trying to keep anything from burning! All I kept thinking in that moment was, man, there really is not a whole lot of room for Jesus between me and him right now 🫢. After our dinner, before I left, Nick asked if he wanted to give me a *personal, private* tour of his house which really escalated the whole butterfly situation! As I tried to remain cool, calm, and collected, all I kept thinking was “woah, Nick Lipski is so cool, his house is so cool, Nikki, you need to make sure you keep your cool!!!” So much so, that when we hugged goodbye, I accidentally stole his Tupperware and took home his leftover cheesecake that my sister so graciously made for him. Talk about a foreshadow into our relationship… About a week later, to my surprise, Nick asked me out at the end of a surprise party that we attended for one of our dear friends. Sweet Nick and his boldness never ceases to catch me off guard…especially when I have to pee! (I’ll let him tell that side of the story 😜). It took about a week of waiting for us to finally go on our first date, since at the time I had a ‘less than ideal’ night shift nurse schedule, but all I have to say is, boy oh boy, it was totally worth the wait! ❤️🔥
Before I even met Nikki I remember hearing about "the twins from Chicago." When I finally did meet Nikki and Jenni on the patio outside our old church building I remember Nikki's smile and laugh. After getting to know her better I started thinking about asking her out. I don't quite remember which Sunday, but one Sunday after church I remember talking to a friend who asked me, "What do you think about Nikki?" To which I replied, "She's awesome!" He then said, "Great. I'm going to ask her out!" Well, I guess it wasn't meant to be...yet :) Nikki and I stayed friends for awhile and in my mind I had relegated myself to believing that we would always be that, just really good friends. Then one day Nikki put me, her sister, and our friend, Deon, into a group chat to get dinner together. She promptly volunteered me to host since she had never been to my house (despite multiple invitations haha). That night, Nikki shared her desire to go to Germany for a missions school in the fall. I remember hearing her heart for Jesus and another side of her in a depth I had never known before. Prior to this I had decided to not date for awhile, but I just couldn't live with myself if I didn't ask her out on a date. Despite her expressing her desire to move across the world for missions and the possibility of anything happening between us, I decided to ask her out and risk our friendship changing in the hopes of something more :) We were both invited to a friend's birthday party the next week and I decided if I saw her there I would ask her out. Well, when I walked in the door she was the first person I saw. We chatted briefly and she proceeded to talk to another one of our friends most of the evening. As the night was drawing to a close I knew I had to make my move haha. I awkwardly inserted myself into their conversation and waited for a moment alone with her. We all stood up to leave and she said she had to go to the bathroom. I said, "Hey Nikki, can I ask you a question before you go?" To which she replied, "Of course, I can hold my pee for twelve hours since I'm a nurse!" I don't remember how I responded to that, but I shared my feelings after hearing her desire to go to Germany and I knew it didn't make sense, but asked if I could take her out on a date sometime to which she said... "Yes!" It was another week and a half before we went on that first date, at which she tried to keep it a secret from her roommates but they found out anyways. I picked her up and we talked for 4+ hours over our pasts, some concerns, and ultimately decided to go on another date. Before that next date though, Nikki said we needed to talk and I assumed that meant she didn't want to go out anymore. Before we met up Nikki's car broke down and I met her to fix it (loose ground wire to the battery). Afterwards we talked in the car for almost an hour about if we should date or not based on her potentially moving and some other concerns. In the end we decided to try it out and "just go on dates" for the foreseeable future. The next day we went on a double date with some friends to see the Chosen Season 3 premiere. Afterwards, Nikki came back to my house and she said, "Nick, I don't want to go on dates anymore, I want to say we are dating!" (That was a quick turn of events!) After that we proceeded to go on many dates from long walks around Sloan's Lake, to skiing, and eventually our "Big M" dates as we started talking about marriage and the future of our relationship. During all of this, Nikki still went to Germany for missions and we dated long distance for two months with only 3 phone calls the entire time! But God had a plan and I eventually took her advice that she liked diamonds and surprises and on January 20th, 2024, I proposed to the love of my life while cross country skiing <3

Best Man
Chase and I have been through a lot together. Through fun times and hard times he has been by my side. Whether it's a witty remark or a thoughtful piece of advice, he always knows what to say. He keeps me rooted in what's most important and always redirects me to God's word and His truth. I can't imagine not having him supporting me in our marriage. It's also always good to have a lawyer on retainer... although that may be a conflict of interest. Chase would know...
Officiant/Groomsman
We met at church in the parking lot after admiring each other's Toyotas. That's as close to a match made in heaven as I could imagine. Our love for Jesus and making His name known has brought about so much change in my life. Since that first day meeting in the church parking lot, we've gone on a lot of adventures and he has been there with many words of wisdom as Nikki and I started dating and got engaged. He is indirectly responsible for most of my cuts and scrapes as I attempt to follow him on my mountain bike, but I won't hold that against him. Nikki might though...
Groomsman
My look alike. From our early days at Mines and Red Rocks Church to now being roommates and being engaged to roommates, its been a wild ride. Daniel is always there for a deep intellectual conversation or to challenge me to dig deeper. We've grown in our faith together, our relationships to our now fiancées, and our enjoyment of the Colorado mountains. What a blessing it has been to walk through this season together.
Groomsman
The man who taught me all I know about cars. Initially we both had other roommate plans after my freshman year at Mines, but Paul ended up staying in the apartment I was moving into and Banks ended up taking a gap year. Little did I know that one day sitting outside as you worked on your car while I asked questions would lead me to purchasing my 4Runner and working on countless cars and many off-roading trips with you and Sarah. (That knowledge even helped me with Nikki's car before we were even dating!) I've been your and Sarah's 3rd wheel too many times to count and I'm so blessed to see and experience your marriage and how it emulates Christ's love for the church.
Groomsman
I met Banks on a dating website... Well, that's not entirely true. Banks reached out to be from the "roommate dating portal" before freshman year to see if we would be a good match as roommates at Mines. He flew out from California and stayed with me having never met me for the summer campus tour and we became instant friends. Lots of climbing, camping, and biking trips and several years of bible studies together later, you are now married and Nikki and I are soon to be. I'm so grateful for you, your support, and optimistic attitude and for the many adventures to come!
Groomsman
Zach keeps me up to date on all the Gen Z slang. He and I also have the same whacky sense of humor that sometimes drives our fiancées crazy. Its good for them though... It has been so fun and life giving to walk through the dating and now engagement season together. Zach has wisdom and maturity beyond his age and he stays close to God's word, allowing it to guide him, his advice he gives to others, and his actions and how he interacts with the world. I can't wait for many more laughs, talks, and memories as we enter this marriage season together too.
Groomsman
My brother-in-law. I knew Marc was the one for my sister as soon as she first talked about him. I could see it in her eyes and hear in her voice how well he cared for her. I've never had a brother and all our ski trips, oil change nights, technical discussions on science and gear, etc. has shown me how fun that can be. He is truly one of the smartest people I know and I am so grateful for how well he takes care of my sister. Plus he introduced our family to Loki and now Fenring which has brought lots of fun (and fur!) into our lives!
Groomsman
My soon to be brother-in-law and chess grand master. Going from no brothers to two brothers in just a few short years has been so unexpected and so fun at the same time. Jon isn't a man of many words, but when he speaks, you'd better listen. He is thoughtful, kind, has the best laugh, and can drink milk like you would not believe. In the short year I've known him, I've watched his faith grow and I am immeasurably blessed by how well he supports Nikki and Jenni and has welcomed me into the family. Looking forward to many more adventures (and gallons of milk) in the years to come.
Maid of Honor
From being my wombmate, to first Colorado roommate, to everything we have experienced in between prior to being introduced to my forever Groommate! How GREAT is our God for giving me the best gift of having you as my twin sister!!! I don’t know anyone who bears the fruit of the Spirit, like patience, more than you. From putting up with me spending literal decades sneaking into your closet and stealing your clothes, to trusting me to have you be a co-signer for Mags without the possibility of hurting your credit score, and allowing me to “tag along” in taking that leap of faith by dropping everything in Chicago and making our new home in Colorado! Boy, does Nick have big shoes to fill…at least he won’t have to worry where to find them. Let's be real, they're probably already in my new closet ;)
Bridesmaid
Who knew but the Lord that when we first met at RST, we would very quickly become backpacking buddies on the "El Camino" in Spain. To then spending countless hours during our "0300 lunch breaks" at Children's catching up on life (and boys!!) and becoming roommates at the Grant House sharing the basement together :'). Additionally, never in our wildest dreams expecting our Fiancés to also be roommates all in the same season! Mads, your radiant beauty emulates the love of Jesus not only to me, but to everyone with whom you cross paths. What an honor it will be to have you stand by my side shining the light of Christ on Nick and my most special day!
Bridesmaid
My non-biological twinnie. <3 From our most precious hangs picnicking in Wash park, to late nights spilling the most pipping hot tea of when we confessed to each other how we were asked out on a first date by our soon-to-be HUSBANDS!! What a wild, wild, story only the Lord could write. I just cannot believe the girl I used to participate in OG White House Multiply trainings with, who had the most beautiful bob, and most inquisitive, gentle spirits, became one of my best gal pals who embraces all my “quirks”. What a precious season we also get to relish in being a Grant Girl roomie in our last season of singleness, and Grace Gang sister who has made such a monumental impact on my walk with Jesus.
Bridesmaid
My ultimate sista from anotha mista :’). Who else can say they’ve met their longest lasting friend even before they can walk?! From waddling down the streets of Deboer Woods, to walking down the aisle in the mountains on my wedding day, you have been and will be by my side through the most transformative years of my life. You and your entire family have helped shape me into the woman I am today. Words can not simply describe what I ever did to deserve you in my life. A friendship like ours is evidence alone that our God deeply cares about the people he puts into our lives. I'll always be your Nik-Nik-Nik-Nik who has a squeezable head, poppable nose, who is a cuddly person, and has cleanable ears (ears, ears). And also.... you're a w*ener and just want my babushka!!!!
Bridesmaid
From annual Halloween parties at the Horne house, to countless hours in rehearsals for Madrigals, jazz ensembles, and musicals, to tackling me to the ground when we found out we both got accepted into UIC together, you have played such a vital role in my life for always being my biggest supporter, encourager, and dreamer. Your passion and love for music and the way you express yourself using your voice helps keep me grounded in believing that only God could compose the most unique and beautiful symphonies for us. Mer bear, I am so blessed by our friendship, our love for life and all those in it, and our purpose to keep us rooted in the One who created it all!
Bridesmaid
The one who has enabled me to be a part of the most obnoxious shenanigans throughout the years. I don’t know how in the world we both ended up in a profession where our job is to save lives... Thank you for also encouraging my outrageous McDonald’s and ketchup quarter eating habits, being so forgiving when I technically fractured your femur during one of our ski and snowboard club trips, and never creating a dull moment whenever we would go out to the city to play…my poor apartment :’). You have one of the most unbelievably generous and thoughtful spirits and have blessed me beyond belief throughout the last decade and a half of being the best gal pals!
Bridesmaid
My future sister-in-law!!! I am so stoked to be getting another sister :D. I sooo look forward to our adventures together whenever we spend time with the family at the cabin, cross country ski, and all the family get togethers. I can’t wait for many more years making memories with you! Here's to filling our bellies with the best baked treats, lots of good convos and walks with Fenring & Loki and loads of dates dishing about our husbands upstairs while they change our oil in the garage ;D.
