Jalisa and Nicholas connected through online dating over their common love of anime and video games. They had their first date at Starbucks where Nicholas helped Jalisa improve her character on a game called Elder Scrolls Online and then they had a nice dinner at Applebee's. They had such a good time that they went on a subsequent date the next day, and that was when Nicholas asked Jalisa to be his girlfriend and of course she said YES! They then began spending more time connecting over various different games, shows, and activities they both enjoyed. The next month they had their first big date, where they went on a double date with Nick's brother Raphael and his girlfriend Gabby. They both got to go on several rides and he was her hero as she clung onto him as they went through several haunted mazes. They took their first trip together for Valentines Day of the following year where they went whale watching. Later that year they welcomed their first child together Illyana. In January of 2023, Nicholas proposed to Jalisa while they were doing karaoke by singing Marry Me by Bruno Mars. The next month the couple had a small court wedding, however they still wanted to celebrate with friends and family and decided to have a larger ceremony in June of the next year.
