Luis and I met my first year at Sunnyside high school during my junior year. He transferred into my 4th period algebra class during the second semester. The first note he ever wrote me was the day we met—he sent me a bomb threat. The note included instructions on how to build a bomb and a diagram of him blowing me up. And then… we fell in love. After receiving that love note, we were friends who enjoyed annoying each other. He would throw food at me, call me out in front of the class, and we’d constantly make fun of each other. When summer started, school had barely been out for a week before he texted me asking if I wanted to play Call of Duty. He clearly wanted me. This was June 2022. We started calling and texting all the time; talking to each other 24/7 became our routine. Still, we were just friends. The first time we hung out after school ended we went to Popeyes with two of our friends. Being together made us realize we had feelings for each other. Then school started again—it was our senior year. I may or may not have convinced him to change his schedule so we could have three classes together. Ever since the first day of school, we were inseparable. A week later, he asked me out over the phone—right after my mom came into my room interrogating us about whether we were dating. After she left, he said something along the lines of, “Do you want to be my girlfriend?” and I said yes. That was August 11, 2022. Since then, we went to homecoming, flew across the country together, gone on adventures, went to prom, and we graduated together as high school sweethearts. On December 15, 2024, Luis proposed to me in front of Cinderella’s Castle at Disneyland. Of course, I said yes—and now, here we are, getting married. Next comes a house, babies, advancing our careers, and growing old together. Happily Ever After.
