Tessa and Nathan's love story is 30 years in the making. In the 1980's Nathan's family was looking for a new home, and moved just one house away from Tessa's. Their mothers became fast friends, and were often assumed to be sisters because of how much they look alike. Through the years Tessa and Nathan played together, along with the neighborhood kids. They always shared a love for animals, and Nathan was known as the mini Jack Hannah of the neighborhood with many exotic pets. Nathan will happily share that Tessa was his first crush, proving he had life figured out early because it took her 30+ years to catch on. They remained friendly through their school years and moved on separately to their own adventures. But it was almost as if the two were tied by an invisible string. Nathan moved to Cincinnati, and shortly after Tessa followed. Years later, Nathan moved to Columbus and just the same as before, Tessa followed, at the beginning of the pandemic. While their paths never crossed in the wild, later when comparing notes they realized they enjoyed the same restaurants and coffee shops. This love story needed more than divine intervention to take off though, it took maternal intervention. Nathan's mother, and sister after learning Tessa was single decided to get the two together to welcome Tessa to her new city and provide space for sparks to fly. While Tessa was hosting this mini get together in her home, Nathan felt that childhood crush wash over him all over again. Tessa and Nathan became great friends. They began roller skating together, played on a kickball team together, and even worked on projects together. They developed a deep and loving friendship, Tessa even would even tell girlfriends she hoped to find a man like Nathan one day, assuming friendship was all they would ever have. Until one fateful night while cohosting a Halloween bonfire the two learned of the other's interest. As they say the rest is history. The moral of the story is sometimes children do know best, and occasionally a good man will show up at your door step. We are so happy to host each of you at our wedding! We want everyone to have a great time, enjoy yourselves, and share in our love!

Man of Honor
I met Tessa while volunteering in Dayton. I was immediately drawn to Tessa's professional attitude and she was rocking some power red. Either some bright lipstick or a red dress. I knew Tessa was a mountain mover. We immediately bonded over dance, creative activities, and baking.
Matron of Honor
As Nathan’s sister, I’ve known Tessa nearly all our lives! We first met when I was about 6 years old and she was closer to 2 or 3, when my family moved in just two houses down from Tessa on the same street. As our families quickly became good friends, Tessa was like a younger sister to me growing up. I spent many summer days helping her mom garden or playing in her yard. Tessa and her family have always felt like extended family to me, so I’m ecstatic that it will now be official and I’m so happy that her and Nathan “found” each other after all these years!

I feel like Tessa and I have been friends our entire lives but we met in 2018 while I was working at a nail salon in Cincinnati. I knew instantly that we were meant to meet. She is one of the kindest, funniest and most supportive people I know and has always been there for me through the good, bad and in between. Tessa is like the sister I never had and I’m so grateful and honored to stand with her on her wedding day.

I met Tessa by chance as she started working at the same department at Wright State University as I was finishing up a graduate assistantship in 2013-2014. We happened to have the opportunity to collaborate on several projects and I was always struck by her grace, drive, kindness, and professionalism. We have connected over similar experiences and supported each other through milestones in our lives including the challenges and excitement of balancing careers, dissertations, and relationships! Our careers happened to take us from Dayton to Columbus around the same time in 2020 and I have been so thankful for her friendship. I am thrilled to celebrate Tessa and Nathan and their love story!

How we met: i met Tessa on the first day of kickball, as we parked our cars at north crest park and walked towards the kickball field we both had no idea where we were going. Laughing at ourselves as we got lost trying to find our team on the field, we felt a sort of kinship immediately as we couldn’t stop connecting on various topics: our time spent living in Cincinnati, balancing demanding careers with our dating lives, and our love for self improvement, healing and growth. We met as two women embarking on a new adventure and open to meeting new people but little did we know how close of friends we would truly become.
