Country Club Plaza
The Country Club Plaza is an iconic KC shopping and dining district. Our favorite spots: Seasons 52 (our first date! and the fountain out front is where Pasi proposed!) UPDATE - This restaurant has CLOSED as of 5/19/25... We are choosing to NOT take this as a bad sign, but instead a sign of rebirth/renewal/new beginnings... RIGHT, EVERYONE!? Gram & Dunn (PATIO!) Made in KC (KC-made housewares, accessories, food and clothing) The Nelson-Atkins Museum (FREE admission!) The Donald J. Hall Sculpture Park is located on the lawn surrounding the Nelson-Atkins and is also free and a great place to get some fresh air. It's also where Natalie met Pasi's son Reino for the first time :)
Old Westport
Westport is like the younger, "hipster" version of the Country Club Plaza neighborhood. Our favorite spots: - Kelly's Westport Inn (beer, Pop-a-shot, pizza) - Harry's Bar & Tables (cocktails) - Broadway Cafe (coffee & pastries) - Pryde's Old Westport (housewares)
Crossroads
The Crossroads district in downtown KC is known for its numerous art galleries, bars and restaurants. Our favorite spots: - Up Down KC - adults-only bar and arcade - Town Topic - old-timey diner with burgers and milkshakes (you will need to wash the grilled onion smell out of your clothes) - Grinders KC - bar/grill (featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives) and concert venue - Also be sure to check out the tons of local breweries in the Crossroads area! They are all great.
Garmin Kansas City Marathon
Fun fact: Natalie's dad ran the Kansas City Marathon in 2022! Other fun fact: Pasi ran a marathon once. Alone. During Covid. Around his neighborhood. Yes, he threw up. And you can run a marathon, too! Unbeknownst to us when we picked our wedding date, the Kansas City Marathon will be starting from the Country Club Plaza's Frank A. Theis park on Saturday, October 18th at 7am. Even if you aren't attending the marathon as a runner, you will likely hear the preparations, gathering crowds, and yes, some vomiting, from your hotel room.

While we would love to invite everyone’s children, our venue space is limited. We hope you look forward to a night off full of fun!

Believe us, no one is more upset than Pasi. He would be on the dance floor playing knee hockey with all your children if he could.

What in the world does “colorful cocktail” attire mean?
Answer
This is a celebration! Come dressed in your favorite bold colors. For women, that could be long or short dresses (or jumpsuits, or slacks!) in a solid color or a bold print. For men, even if you only have a black or gray suit, maybe add a colorful tie! I guess just try not to wear all black. Or white. 🤣

Well, fun fact: while Natalie exhibits the anxiety of a Type A bride, she unfortunately does not have the Type A decision-making skills. Pasi is getting a lot of practice in patience throughout the planning process and as he can convince Natalie to finalize some of the details, they will be updated here!
