When people install a relationship app, it's an expected behavior to set the distance filter to, you know, a reasonable value. Unless they are Natalia and Rudy. Thanks to that, Rudy didn't register he had just sent a "Hola señorita hermosa" to a woman who lived almost five thousand miles away from him. Natalia, however, did notice he was a little too far. She decided to reply anyway. Those first few honest-to-goodness lines turned into daily messages, which given time, gave way to the first video calls. Turns out those became a part of the bride and groom's daily routine rather quickly. And so it kept going, for eight long months. A continuous back and forth of calls, messages and pictures between Brazil and Texas. As much as love gives us patience and the strength to endure, it also demands that distance to be surpassed — those who love yearn to be close to their beloved. THERE WILL BE SIGNS However, as much as the desire to be together is very much there, along with it comes many "what ifs". Would they get along with each other so well in person? What if it didn't work out? Moreover, even if it did work out better than they expected, they still lived in different countries. Still, God has mysterious ways of showing people to the path they are supposed to take. With just a few days apart, at the wedding of her future bridesmaid, Natalia snatched the bouquet that flew right at her with one hand, the other holding a caipirinha glass. She went to show Rudy the video proving her spectacular catch, only to be surprised: he had gotten the bride's garter at his brother's wedding. Coincidence...or Providence? Whichever one, it wasn't long before they took the leap of faith and finally met. Natalia put her foot on a plane to travel abroad for the first time, her heart set and ready to face the adventure. When she arrived, Rudy was there, with a bouquet of beautiful red roses, and all the wait was worth it. It wasn't easy, never is — but so worth it. After all, some people can spend their lives searching for love, and most often find it no further than right next door. A few, like Natalia and Rudy, find each other five thousand miles away, and make it work. Now, in just a few weeks, by meeting each other at the altar before God, they will cross the last few meters that separate them from the rest of their lives together.
