The cocktail hour will begin at 11:30am and the ceremony will begin promptly at 12:30pm. Please arrive somewhere in between those two times.
Crest Hollow has a parking lot that will be available free of charge to our guests.
The easiest way to get to Crest Hollow is by car however you can take public transportation from Manhattan. For specific directions, visit our website's "Schedule" page and click on the map button.
All invited guests are listed on the addressed envelope. Unfortunately we are tight on numbers so we can't have everyone there, but we would love to celebrate with you and your partner / significant other separately.
We love your children, but unfortunately the only kids that we will be able to accommodate at our wedding are our nieces and nephews.
Yes it is! Additionally, all of the rooms we will be using will be on the ground floor and in places that are elevated or sunken, there will be ramps as well.
The dress code is semi-formal (suits and cocktail dresses). If you have the option, leave your black attire at home and add some color to your ensemble!
Yes! And lots of it. Make sure to bring a comfortable set of shoes and lots of energy!
There will not be a mechitzah (partition between men and women during dancing), however we encourage you to form your own dance environment in which you will feel comfortable.
Please do! For those less familiar: it is a mitzvah (a holy opportunity or commandment) to increase newlyweds’ joy on their wedding day. In many Jewish religious weddings, this is achieved through sitting the couple down during the dancing as guests take turns entertaining them as the music plays. People often bring props, funny costumes, t-shirts or signs referencing shared jokes or experiences, or those with talent might even juggle or do acrobatics! Those who are spotlight-shy can still add to the shtick environment by bringing bubbles or glowsticks or simply by wearing a silly hat. Google and Youtube are full of great ideas. Bonus points for doing the hat dance from Fiddler on the Roof: https://youtu.be/MuOhe7VsIoE
We do indeed. You can see it in the "registry" tab of our website.
There will be professional photographers at the wedding and we would prefer that the photos that they shoot of the ceremony not include cell phones blocking your faces. We also would prefer that our guests be present in the moment and as such we ask that cell phones be put away during the ceremony. Feel free to take as many pictures as you want during the cocktail hour and dinner. Remember to share your photos with us! Climate change aside, February on the East Coast tends to get quite cold. Temperatures tend to be an average low of 25°F (-4°C) and a high of 43°F (6°C). Fortunately, all the wedding events will be in heated areas.
Yes there will a free coat check.
We have blocked off rooms for February 15-16 at Four Points by Sheraton Melville Long Island. https://tinyurl.com/nadrielhotels To get a preffered rate, when calling up tell them you're booking for the Schorer-Meiri-Wedding.
Yes, as our sages have said "There's no happiness without meat and wine" - "אין שמחה אלא בבשר ויין", there will be food and an open bar as you arrive until the ceremony starts at 12:30pm, and then a full sit down three course meat meal following the ceremony (bar will still be open...).
Upon request, yes. We need to let the kitchen know at least three weeks in advance of any dietary restrictions. If you're planning on attending the wedding and require something special prepared, please make sure we're aware of your needs as early as possible.
We need to clear the space at 5:30pm on the day of the wedding, but we would love to keep the partying and celebrations going. We have reserved a few tables at on the upper deck at the speakeasy bar The Back Room. Party will be at 7pm on Monday night. Detials to follow on Facebook... They do not allow real fur, team jerseys, baseball hats or flip flops. Fake fur, leather, suede, feathers, and other hats are all fine. Jeans and sneakers are fine. There will also be a password to get in that night, we will post it here and it can also be found on The Back Room's FB, Twitter and Instagram accounts.
You will be missed! If you cannot make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.
It has been both a pleasure and a challenge planning the details of this wedding and we want to thank everyone who helped us along the way. We are particularly blessed to have an incredible group of friends who have walked this path before us and whose insights were invaluable. This means you! You know who you are, thank you!
Yes we will. We are going to have an after party on Monday night in a bar called The Back Room. Ask for more details.
