We have all the Cuisinarts, blenders, and fancy bed sheets we need. We’ve chosen to have our kids be the furry kind, so no strollers or bassinets needed. The truth is, we’ve both had more than our share of hardship this year, but the best thing to come out of it all was meeting each other. Help us have a great elopement, and let when we say “I do” have all the magic we deserve. We’ve helped many of you celebrate at your wedding, this is how you can help us celebrate ours!

“The only one in the world. The church exists for only one month in the winter in Hokkaido. Starting with the domed exterior, the altar, the aisle, and the cross, everything is made of snow and ice in this ice blue space.” -(www.snowtomamu.jp) **This is a private ceremony, no outside guests are invited. The time in Japan is for us to bond and enjoy each other as a newly married couple. The pre-trip party and formal signing of the marriage documents will be our friends’ opportunity to participate. Thank you for your understanding 🙏**

FAQsFAQs

Question

When will we be getting married? When will we be getting married?

Answer

We are eloping. The legal process will be signed at the dc marriage office in January 2026, no bells and whistles. DC allows for couples to officiate each other. So technically once we sign and say the words, we will legally be married. We have decided to exchange vows with a private symbolic ceremony in Japan. We arrive in Japan on February 9th.

Question

Are guests invited to the elopement? Are guests invited to the elopement?

Answer

While we do want to keep our time in Japan as an adventure for just the two of us, we will have plenty of opportunities to celebrate with friends before we depart for our trip! We appreciate anyone who wants to attend and would love to see you at the celebration happy hour & after party in January!!

Question

Should guests bring gifts to any of the events?Should guests bring gifts to any of the events?

Answer

While of course we value your connection to us more than any monetary expectation, but for those of you who can, we have included our elopement fund on this site as our preferred means to receive gifts, as we are less in need of material things and would find more value in the experiences we can create with the ideas in our registry. By all means if this feels limiting to anyone, we won’t turn away a heartfelt surprise 🙏

Question

How did we meet? How did we meet?

Answer

As trite as it may sound, we met online. After weeks of chatting and talking on the phone, we went on our first date. Wendy packed a whole picnic and we spent the day at Six Flags. Both of us realized it was the best date we’d ever had and everything since has felt just as majestic. From rollercoasters to go-karts to road trips, parasailing, tattoos and more, it feels like a lifetime we’ve gotten to experience together already. We found truth behind the saying “when you know, you KNOW”, and can’t wait to embark on this next adventure together.
