Travel

Flight

Flying into EWR (Newark)

- AIRPORT: Newark is great for all international and domestic arrivals/departures. - DISTANCE: Jersey/EWR is further from the city (more traffic), but cheaper to fly. 40-50 minutes from the city on average. - TRANSPORTATION: we don’t recommend renting a car. Uber is the best option. Parking and tolls are much more expensive than uber.

Flight

Flying into LGA (LaGuardia)

- AIRPORT: Easiest domestic arrivals/departures option. LGA is newly renovated. - DISTANCE: 30minutes to midtown Manhattan. - TRANSPORTATION: Uber or Lyft is best option to get in and out of the city.

Flight

Flying into JFK

- AIRPORT: Best for international travel. Currently under construction and can cause some transportation delays (see “transportation”) - DISTANCE: 40-50 minutes from the city. - TRANSPORTATION: Airport-AirTrain takes you to AMTRAK train that goes to Penn-station. OR Take a yellow-cab taxi or airport shuttle to the ride-share area to take an uber.

Travel Note

DRIVING TO NYC

*Highly recommend downloading the “SpotHero” app. This allows you to pre-book/reserve your parking and at a lesser cost than driving up-to parking garages in the city. *Do not count on any street-parking.

Travel Note

Parking and Transportation

*If you DON’T have a car*: - Uber and Lyft are typically the best ways to get around. - Subways are okay, but typically we stay above ground. It ultimately depends on the area you’re in and the line that you take of the level of safety. - MTA and AMTRAK trains are great if you’re traveling to/from Grand Central or Penn Station. Downloading the app(s) are best to see train times, gates, and make ticket purchases. *If you DO have a car*: - Download the app”SpotHero”. This makes it easy and less expensive to find parking around the city. - There are plenty of parking garages and parking lots around the city- don’t ever plan to find parking on the streets, it’s very rare.

FAQs

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Wear your Sunday best—on a Saturday! Think casual, but dressy, and don’t forget comfortable shoes for a little wandering around the museum. Bring a jacket, too—the weather could be anywhere from 62°F and overcast to 72°F and sunny. Since we’re right on the Hudson, a light breeze is always possible.

Question

Is there transportation?

Answer

There is no transportation provided. Guests are welcome to Uber or feel free to walk the 1 mile to the reception. The path(s) to the reception is in a safe area. Feel free to share Ubers with other family and friends!

Question

Are kids allowed?

Answer

Due to limited seating, we kindly ask that the guest list reflect the number of attendees on your RSVP. The ceremony and reception site are not very kid-friendly. Thank you for understanding!
