Our Love Story

February 13th 2022

We met through our mutual love of dogs! We are both members on the local animal rescue and pet social media pages and something I posted caught his attention. After some Facebook stalking and messaging to our mutual friend Patti Sherburne to confirm that I was indeed single and he was indeed not a crazy person we had our our first date on Super Bowl Sunday 2022 and have been inseparable ever since! We have grown a lot both as a couple and individuals over the past two years and we support each other every day in becoming the best versions of ourselves and loving each other unconditionally.

FAQs

Question

Can I bring a plus 1?

Answer

Absolutely! Please just let us know when you rsvp so we can include in our final catering count.

Question

What kind of food will be served?

Answer

Cocktail hour with drinks and appetizers will immediately follow the ceremony. We will also have a catered light meal of chicken and beef kebabs, grilled veggies and fruit and a spring salad. We will of course have cake!

Question

Will there be alcoholic beverages?

Answer

There will be wine and beer as well as signature cocktail ingredients to make your own drinks. You are welcome to bring outside alcohol to consume. PLEASE ask for a sober ride if you overindulge. We won’t judge you for your drunken antics (remember that clothing is required at all times!) but please be safe!

Question

What if we need a hotel?

Answer

There are plenty of accommodations locally. Let us know if you need recommendations. No, you may not stay at our house because we have a LOT of dogs here!

Question

Can I wear white?

Answer

We don’t care what you wear! Just keep it on during the ceremony AND reception! (See “will there be alcoholic beverages” for additional information)

Question

Should I arrive early to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes please! We are having a traditional Catholic wedding ceremony which includes a Catholic mass. We suggest arriving at least 15 minutes early to be seated at the church.

Question

What should I expect at the ceremony?

Answer

We are having a traditional Catholic wedding ceremony which includes a Catholic mass. You do not have to be Catholic or religious in any way to attend! We are very excited for everyone invited to attend both the ceremony and reception but if you are not familiar with Catholic services we understand you might have questions! The ceremony will last approximately 45 minutes (remember there is free food and alcohol plus a band at the end 😋) You are not expected nor should you feel obligated to participate in prayers, hymns, etc. if that is not your thing. If you do wish to participate, just follow the other Catholics and stand, sit, kneel when they do (don’t worry- it won’t turn you into a Catholic if you aren’t already 😋) The reception will follow between 3-330pm at the Veterans memorial building and we will join after we get family pictures taken.

Question

When should I go to the reception venue?

Answer

You are welcome to watch us get pictures taken after the ceremony or head over to have drinks and snacks at the reception venue directly after the ceremony. We will keep our family picture time to a minimum so we don’t keep you waiting long! The band will be set up about 4pm so there is time to get food and drinks and sit down to eat.

Question

Am I allowed to take pictures and video during the ceremony?

Answer

We ask that you keep camera and cell phone use very limited during the ceremony out of respect for the church services but feel free to take pictures and video and post on social media all during the reception! Our photographer asks that she be the only one taking pictures during the family picture time immediately following the ceremony.

Question

Where is your wedding registry?

Answer

We have linked our Amazon registry under here on Zola. If you do wish to send/bring a gift we will have a card and gift table at the reception. If you would like to contribute towards our wedding celebration you can also do so through our registry link.

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

Sure! We will not have childcare or child specific activities but your kids are welcome!

Question

Can I bring other people’s kids?

Answer

No.

Question

Will there be entertainment?

Answer

My brother, Nick Shepard will likely provide unsolicited entertainment with his witty banter throughout the day, but we are very excited to have The Real Doug Lane from Provo UT play at our reception! Check out their info here: http://www.therealdouglane.com/about
