Getting to Colorado Springs: There are essentially three ways to get to Colorado Springs: 1. Drive (this sounds terrible, 10 out of 10 would not recommend) 2. Fly into Colorado Springs Airport (COS). Several major airlines offer flights into COS with connections in their respective hubs. From the airport, the hotels and wedding venue are approximately 20-25 miles north. If you fly into Colorado Springs, you may not need to rent a car. 3. Fly into Denver International Airport (DEN). Most airports offer direct flights to DEN on a major airline. From Denver International Airport, the hotels and wedding venue are approximately 70-75 miles south. If flying into this airport, renting a vehicle would be recommended. Additionally, due to potential inclement weather, an SUV or a vehicle with AWD (John recommends a Subaru, of course) would be ideal. Please note: The drive from Denver to Colorado Springs does not go through the mountains. I-25 is generally flat and straight, but it is prone to inclement winter weather just the same. Getting to the wedding venue: The Black Forest by Wedgewood wedding venue is located at 12375 Black Forest Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80908, and it is approximately seven miles from the Residence Inn and six miles from the Lodge at Flying Horse. There is ample parking at the event venue, however, we recommend Uber/Lyft to any of our guests who will be enjoying the open bar during the evening.

Will the ceremony and reception take place at the same location?

The bride and groom will say their vows in front of their immediate families at The Garden of the Gods and then celebrate with their friends and family immediately afterward at Black Forest by Wedgewood Weddings.

Will children be allowed to attend the wedding?

Answer

While we LOVE all the children of our friends and family, the wedding celebration will be for parents only. We respectfully request our guests leave the little ones at home, and join us for a night of inhibited revelry.

Special Requests/Photography

Answer

We are asking our friends and family to travel great distances for a once-in-a-lifetime celebration and union of our two families. Because of this, we have hired the best photographers to capture every moment of our celebration. The photographers will be capturing photos with the couple and all their guests, as well as candid shots, in which they specialize. To capture the authenticity and spirit of the celebration, especially in the candid shots, the photographers have requested guests limit their phone usage throughout the evening. We ask that our guests let the professionals do what they do best so that we can all be in the moment. We will share all the wonderful wedding photos with our loved ones after the celebration.

What should I wear?

Wedding attire is formal. Because this is a winter wedding in (possibly) snowy Colorado, dark colors are encouraged. Please, no white.

What will happen if I don't RSVP in time?

Though we understand that life happens, due to the constraints of planning an out-of-state wedding, if guests fail to rsvp within the allotted time frame, they will be unable to join us on our special day. Please make sure to let us know if you can join us as soon as possible. We will miss our invited guests who cannot attend and hope we can celebrate together at another time!

Are there plans for NYE?

For those staying in town for New Year's Eve, we are planning on celebrating the occasion with our friends and family. Although plans are yet to be determined, Colorado Springs has an excellent New Year's Eve, with fireworks displays at Garden of the Gods and off Pike's Peak.
