We met by pure coincidence in a doctor's waiting room in late July 2016. I was not usually the type to strike up a conversation with strangers, but a small voice in my head said, "Hey! You should talk to that guy!" I almost talked myself out of it but I saw he was reading a book called "Malodrax" (No way to italicize it here, lol). I was reading a book myself so I figured it was worth a shot and I can use that as an opener. I said, "That looks like an interesting book." Braden said it was and when I asked what it was about, he mentioned to me that it was from the Warhammer 40K universe and told me a bit about the setting. I did think the book was interesting, but while he was talking with me I could not help but think about how cute he was and what his name was. I replied that my book "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies", was the original novel by Jame Austen with the twist that Elizabeth Bennett and her siblings dealt with and fought zombies. Before we both left that doctor's office we exchanged phone numbers (He said he had never asked someone for theirs and I replied that I had never been asked for mine before!) and went on our first date at Samurai of Tokyo about a month or so later after texting and talking for a while. It seems like a lifetime ago as well as just yesterday for me. I am very glad our random individual journeys overlapped that summer day.
