The story of how Jeremy and Misha met is an unlikely story and a testament to modern technology and God’s intervention. Misha had put up a personal ad on a subreddit growing weary and tired of dating apps. It was arduous and there so many creeps and weirdos that responded to the ads she had originally put up. Feeling dejected and disappointed nearly gave up, but felt the nudge to try once more. She took to her keyboard writing a post not shy of a short novel leaving small acorns to be sure to weed out the invalids and the people who couldn’t be bothered to read all she had to say. After all if they couldn’t read that much, how could she be sure that they would earnestly listen to anything she had to say? Her thoughts, her feelings, her boundaries and her ambitions for the future? Then finally one man among 50 was the only one to respond to the post she left and answered every single question, uncovered every acorn and even offered his own contribution. The two began sending messages eventually switching over to their actual phone numbers and the rest was history. The couple agreed to finally meet on a whim one day this day we’ve chosen February 25, 2024. From reddit to IRL we’ve been talking and haven't stopped since and with hope and God’s grace wont stop until death do us part.
As Jeremy and I got closer we started to notice uncanny inexplicable “coincidences” We’ll tell you about three of them. 1. One of my favorite Christmas songs I used to sing this when I was child all the time “Christmas in Dixie” at the top of my lungs in the kitchen with my mom during Christmas time. Come to find out the very band Alabama that made the song was from this very town that the man I’d be marrying was from. 2. At the beginning of Covid in 2020 Misha quit her job and moved to Las Vegas in July of that year I moved to northern Nevada to take a job at a geothermal plant in October of 2021. Missed her by seven months and 6 and a half hours 3. But during that time we were in the same place at the same time and didn’t even know it yet. February 14 2021 was one of the worst snow storms Dallas had ever seen. Planes were grounded and cancelled and we both spent the night in the same airport at Dallas Fort Worth which we both vowed never to go back to. Who would have thought three years later we’d meet again and this time we’d stay together Misha also said she’d never step foot in Alabama for any reason. Never say never
3:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Semi formal
The meal for this evening will be a collection of Mine and Jeremy’s favorite Haitian dishes prepared by my Stepmom Leonie. The meal will be served either family style or buffet depending on the number of guests that attend. This is a private ceremony and while pictures are encouraged we ask that no one post anything to social media. Lastly, we ask only immediate family and wedding party wear shades of blue and naturally no one wear white. Thank you so much! - The Millers
RSVPs are now closed no one else will be allowed to rsvp at this time
There is a Hampton Inn in town that Jeremy says is great and a holiday inn that is less than great but I recommend getting an air bnb in Mentone views are beautiful and hiking is nearby, and if you’re going with a group it’ll be cheaper!
No, all invitations have been sent out with plus ones for families considered. This is a small intimate event. Please don’t bring anyone additional they won’t be allowed in.
Sorry no as per the RSVP we decided that it would be best leave the kiddos at home due to the location of the ceremony. Kids are welcome at the reception but if you are drinking you MUST designate someone to look after your minion. All kids if brought to the reception must have supervision at ALL times
No we’re not registered and we won’t be doing a registry. Jeremy and I are moving shortly, if we haven’t already by the ceremony. We don’t know what we’re getting, where we’re going or what we’ll need. So we’re waiting do get anything. We will accept cash gifts and will have a specific place to put those at the reception. Please hold onto anything you have and give it to us then 💕
Yes ! Semi formal sneakers are okay just make sure they’re not beat up absolutely no jeans. Only immediate family will be in designated colors. As such we ask all guests not immediately related to the bride and groom not wear ANY shade of blue or white. Thank you so much for being a good sport 🎊🍾
Please arrive up to 30 minutes early as we are asking guests who can to coordinate amongst themselves to carpool up to the brow to keep the number of cars to a minimum up at the cliff.
We have two destinations for this wedding. You won’t have to pay for parking at any time. We’re asking guests who can, to carpool up to Brow Park in Mentone to the best of their ability, to keep the number of cars to a minimum. There might be additional place to park for guests to walk a short distance to the brow but we haven’t solidified these details yet. Any updates will be posted here. At the Coal and Iron Building there is plenty of parking. Guests can park in the lot directly to the right near the Salvation Army or in the lot directly across from the building.
No unfortunately it’s a pay per drink due to the size of our wedding you’re welcome to tip the bartender as you see fit. So make sure you bring your ID There will be champagne for the champagne toast not provided by the city of Fort Payne Bar
Yeah! We only ask that you don’t post anything please. We’ll be having a disposable camera app that everyone will be using from their phone they add nice filters and you’re limited to the amount of photos you can take and it makes them more sentimental because you have to use them responsibly. Like how we used to with disposable cameras back in the day! We’re also excited to do this because we get to see the wedding from all of our loved one’s perspectives 💕 If you are a hobbyist photographer and have a more professional camera by all means take all you want we just ask that you don’t impede the photographer we have
Matron of Honor
Aracelis or “Celi” as I and many other refer to her as, has been a really good friend of mine for years we met first when I was in college and we met through her brother. Shes is currently a licensed therapist and worked hard to get to where she is today. She’s been a sound voice of reason, the person to spill all my tea to and a fierce and loyal friend for as long as I can remember. I’m so glad to have her here with me on my special day. Her and her Husband Lavar were recently married in October and they are now expecting! Be sure to give them congratulations too!
Best Man
Beautiful hiking and water falls
