Miranda is requesting that all guests consider masking indoors for 1-2 weeks prior to the event. Masking is a great way to ensure that you don’t get sick for the wedding. If you are flying to Santa Fe, please consider masking in the airport and on the plane! You don’t want to raw dog that nasty airplane air! Show your love by practicing community care!
No. Masking will not be required at the wedding. There will be masks available if you would like to wear one anyway. If you are family and you are sick with something other than COVID, you may reach out for permission to attend wearing a KN95 mask.
Please rapid test the day of the wedding to ensure you’re not sick with the COVIE! If you need help accessing tests please reach out to Miranda or Kristen Browning-Blas. We will have some tests available at the event.
If you test positive for COVID or have covid like symptoms, please do not come to the wedding. The best way to make sure you don’t get sick for this important day is to wear a mask indoors for 1-2 weeks before the wedding. If you’re masking properly prior to the event you won’t end up sick on the day of. If you are FAMILY and you are sick but tested negative for COVID, please reach out to Miranda to get permission to attend wearing a high quality respirator mask, KN95 or better.
A well fitting high quality respirator! KN95, N95. 3M and Kind make great masks. I recommend not to buy masks on Amazon because they don’t fit super well.
Covid is surging across the country. The west and south have high or very high rates of infection. East coast has low to moderate rates. Covid rates are rising everywhere. I refuse to allow my wedding to be a spreader event. So PLEASE follow the precautions listed above. If you want to chat with me about it personally please reach out. Xoxoxoxo Miranda
The reality is that covid is very much a part of life now. Covid infection is extremely dangerous and can lead to lifelong disability. I (Miranda) had my life absolutely wrecked by having covid once. Now I have multiple severe, disabling, chronic conditions because of developing long covid. Getting infected with covid again would be seriously dangerous for me. Of course, all my close friends and family know this already, but I thought it was worth posting about just so everyone attending is on the same page. Covid precautions and cautiousness is an ever flowing spectrum and I am not judging anyone for how they live their lives. I myself ebb and flow with my precautions. For my wedding I am asking people to be extra careful since we are in a surge. I did try to find a realistic middle ground that would implement a few layers of protection without feeling super restrictive. The event will be mostly outside with some inside stuff as well. Masking is not required at the wedding. Tests and masks will be available for use if wanted. Please test prior to attending to ensure you are not infected and could give me THE BRIDE covid. Please mask if traveling as travel hubs are centers for mass infection. If you find it hard to care for your own self (I get it, it’s been a long time and we get fatigued of it!) think of caring about covid for the wedding as a wedding gift to the bride and groom. 💖
