Our relationship started off as purely professional. Yet, our compatibility as coworkers quickly became months of blooming friendship. Learning that we both shared similar hobbies, tastes in food, and a spiritual alignment- amongst many more parallel interests. Despite this obvious mutual attraction, I would naively say that we were “just friends” and I would never date my coworker… Until one evening, as the store emptied and the sky darkened, we found ourselves walking out of work together. Then, we didn’t want the conversation without distractions to end. The stories and laughter we shared, confiding in each other about our dreams and fears, resulted in almost four hours of discussion. Michael invited me to dinner at BJ’s, since it was the only place open so late. Things became very romantic between us, Michael soon kissed me goodbye, and I drove off thinking he could be the one. It seemed as though our love story was assembled by God, as we began so much of our time together by coincidence. After a few more dates, he asked me to be his girlfriend. Two years later, he proposed!
