How did Kate and Mike meet?
Michael and Kate met on Hinge during a time when neither of them was taking dating very seriously. They enjoyed chatting with each other for awhile until one day it suddenly stopped. Even though “ghosting” happens quite often on dating apps, they were both a little bummed because they missed talking to each other. They didn’t realize how much they looked forward to texts from the other until the texts stopped coming. A few weeks later they matched again on Bumble. Michael couldn’t believe his luck. He was so excited that the girl who had ghosted him was still interested. “Hey stranger” was the first message Kate sent Mike on Bumble. Mike thought it was quite odd she would send such a sassy text after ghosting him. After a few minutes of passive aggressive banter, they both realized that Mike’s last message never went through. (He showed her screenshots to prove it.) Later that week, they went out on their first date and they’ve been inseparable ever since.
How did Michael propose?
Michael planned to propose to Kate while galavanting around Italy for her 30th birthday. Unfortunately due to an emergency eye surgery, Kate couldn’t fly and instead they took a week long road trip to the east coast. Michael surprised Kate by proposing on the beach under the stars.

Kate grew up in a small town in Southeast Texas. After attending college at the University of Houston, she began working at the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston in their hospital ministry. She currently works at MD Anderson Cancer Center in the division of pediatrics. Kate’s favorite things about Michael are his empathy and kind eyes.
