Some time in between September and November of 2016 Demar and Mikayla decided to take the next step in their relationship in which they went from dating to boyfriend and girlfriend. Do they know the exact date? To be truthful no, so from there they picked September 24th, 2016 as their unofficial anniversary. “Why?”, you ask? Well let’s get into it. Demar and Mikayla worked together first, and after a couple of years of barely even saying “hello” to each other in passing they started to casually converse, and it felt easy and good. They enjoyed talking to each other A few of the couple’s friends really wanted to set them up, and assumed they’d be a great match. Mikayla however, was so nervous to be asked out by Demar that she was almost always glued to someone whenever Demar came around, so Demar never found the best opportunity to ask. Eventually their coworkers, now long time friends, had the bright idea of them all “hanging out”. At the beginning of the week they had planned to meet up some where, hang out etc.. However, the closer the date came coincidentally people started dropping out last minute. What started as a party of 6, turned into a party of 4, then 3, and eventually 2. They met up at some place called Golden Sea Food, do they even know if this place is still around? No, they don’t. As their final friend left the restaurant after another excuse to not so subtly get them alone, they were left to themselves. They spent the rest of dinner talking and getting to know each other, and eventually ended up seeing “The Magnificent Seven”. From then on they went on a few more dates, and started seeing each other a lot more. Eventually they both agreed that the relationship had a lot more depth than just two people dating and hanging out. That was in November? Who knows really. From there after they were partners that truly wanted the best for each other from the very beginning. They grew together, surrounded themselves with the best people, got a psycho cat, Magnus, and the sweetest dog, Grace, and went on some great adventures. They continue to grow together and push each other to achieve the things in life that seem hard or scary to pursue. They’re each other’s biggest supporters in the most genuine way. They are different humans with different perspectives, but the love that they have allows them to want to succeed with each other. On January 7th Demar and Mikayla will be turning this supportive partnership into a marriage filled with adventures, achievements, and even more love for one another.
