Braden and Mikayla both decided on go to a small college in Atlanta, Oglethorpe University. Second semester freshman year, Braden and Mikayla both took the same core English class. Although Mikayla tended to wear pajamas to school (it was an early morning class), Braden still really liked her. Mikayla? She was just trying to stay awake. During a group project, Braden and Mikayla were formally introduced. Mikayla was extremely intrigued with the embodiment of a contradiction since Braden was wearing a heavy metal band shirt (Slipknot), with lacrosse stickers on his laptop, and seemingly was in love with Taylor Swift. However, Braden and Mikayla quickly became friends, and Braden was friend-zoned (poor guy). In the Fall of 2017, Braden and Mikayla became suite mates. Apparently Mikayla's mom knew immediately that Braden was the one for Mikayla (how annoying that she was right). However, Mikayla was insistent that was "just a friend". While they lived together, he was frustrated by her many boyfriends, while she was annoyed about the amount of time he rewatched Moana at full blast. Seriously, it was ridiculous. Nonetheless, they quickly became best friends. That spring of 2018, Braden decided to ask Mikayla on a date. If it went well, he would be with amazing person, if it went horrible he could potentially lose his best friend and the suite would get awkward FAST. So... no pressure or anything, right? However, after a few rounds of glow in the dark putt-putt golf and ice cream, Mikayla was essentially having the best time of her life and finally was able to be herself and relax with someone. After 2 years of being together, Braden was accepted into grad school half way across the country and their relationship was truly tested. Nevertheless, Mikayla took the chance and left everything she knew to follow a boy (literally what everyone in the world says NOT to do). But with copious amounts of research and planning on Mikayla's part, they were able to move smoothly, with Mikayla getting a job within a month. While Braden and Mikayla both knew since essentially 2018 that they would get married, they wouldn't get engaged for another 3 years. And here we are now!
