***YOU DON'T NEED A RENTAL CAR*** The TriMet MAX Red Line provides direct, frequent service between Portland International Airport (PDX) and downtown Portland, taking about 40 minutes. Trains run every 15 minutes for most of the day. The station is located on the lower level near baggage claim, with a $2.80 fare ($1.40 for honored citizens/youth).
