How We Met

I found my fiancé on Facebook...

Alright, it is time we came clean. Yes, we did meet on the internet! We found ourselves doing what is considered the new normal of the last few generations by creating dating profiles on apps. We had joined a portion of Facebook, called "Facebook Dating". As you would expect, we were both weary of exactly who we were talking to on the other side of the screen. Taking a chance, we decided to meet each other in person. We were both scared of getting hurt, but it was something we bonded over and could relate to. Neither of us had expected anything to come out of a few phone conversations, but we soon started to realize we had similar likes, dislikes, values, and dreams. Little did we know that our dreams would soon be shared and to be each other's forever. Our first few dates consisted of going to car races and haunted houses. This was the most fun either of us have had. Seeing each other a few days a week started turning into almost every day. After going to a haunted house, Michael asked Kaylee to be his girlfriend. Although this may sound cute, Michael thought it was really funny to text Kaylee to pop the question. I promise, he did ask in person after, and it was a little more romantic. Since then, we have been each other's best friends. As many know, none of it has been perfect, but we have learned to have faith in each other and in God. We have been each other's shoulder to cry on and the first person to celebrate each other's success. There is no one else that could make falling in love so easy. In what felt like a dream, under a sunset that seemed to be Cheryl's gift from Heaven, Michael proposed at Horsetooth Reservoir. So, here we are! We might have met online, but after knowing each other's stories and friends, it is crazy to think about how many times our lives may have crossed without even realizing. God really has a special hand in bringing two people together and we are so thankful how he has created our journey this far.

Wedding Party

Meet the people who have shaped us into who we are today. These friends and family will help us celebrate our love and walk down the aisle!

Kaylee Brown

Bride

Kaylee grew up in Berthoud, Colorado and grew up dreaming of being a vet, marine biologist, or nurse. Kaylee spent high school riding horses, training dogs, and playing volleyball. After high school, she graduated from Front Range Community College and is working as an electrical drafter. Kaylee enjoys riding horses, fishing, hockey, a good steak, making people laugh, and spending time with family.

Michael Rose

Groom

Growing up in Colorado, Michael dreamed of being a cop or equipment operator. Michael rode bulls after high school and then started in the oil and gas industry. Kaylee has given Michael a "gentle" push to find a new ride and one with more of horsepower. Piper, a red dun mare, has grown quite a liking of him! Michael has recently gained a new furry best friend named "Riggs" and is his partner in crime. He enjoys fishing, hockey, and spending time with family. Michael's ultimate dream is starting a line of breeding bucking bulls.

Heather Ortega

Bridesmaid

Heather is one of the funniest people you will ever meet. Heather and Kaylee went to middle school together and enjoyed drawing dog cartoons, playing basketball, talking about horses, and making sure to drive Mrs. Brown nuts. Lucky enough, both Heather and Kaylee were able to reunite in college at Front Range Community College and both recently graduated with an Associates is Architectural Building Science.

Eliza Bonner

Bridesmaid

Eliza has always been a positive and caring person. She will never fail to notice when you need a helping hand. Eliza and Kaylee went to middle school together and instantly started to be friends over their love of animals. Heather, Eliza, and Kaylee were almost inseparable. Although Eliza went to University of Colorado, Eliza never failed to be right by Kaylee's side. Currently studying nursing, there is no doubt that she will always be a helping hand.

Cassidy Vaughan

Bridesmaid

Cassidy met Kaylee through Front Range Community College. Studying the same classes, it was almost impossible to not cross paths. Cassidy never fails to make you laugh and smile. The shared passions between Kaylee and Cassidy led to late softball nights, horse rides, fishing evenings, and even sharing an apartment. Although only knowing each other a few years, Cassidy has been there for some of the hardest and some of the best moments.

Elena Dreier

Maid of Honor

Elena (Ella), has been more than a cousin. Ella has always been an incredibly inviting and thoughtful person. Ella is more of a sister than a cousin, and always will be. Thanks to her positivity, she has helped raise everyone she meets to be a better version of themselves. Kaylee and Ella have too many memories to recall, but they tend to include a ton of laughter. Ella is currently at the Coast Guard Academy and is continuing to prove her grit.

Courtney Hunter

Matron of Honor

Courtney has proven to be an amazing daughter, wife, sister, and mom. What some people may not recognize is that she is an even better friend. Courtney has always wanted to put others first. Courtney and Kaylee did not grow up being the best of friends. While Courtney was in high school, Kaylee was busy making sure Courtney had no peace and quiet! Courtney still always made sure to let Kaylee know that she would always be there for her. Kaylee has shared her heart with Courtney, and she has taken the gentlest care of it. Thanks to her kindness and love, she will never fail to be a best friend.

Timothy Brown

Father of the Bride

Timothy (Tim) is one of the most inspiring people you will be able to meet. Tim will always be there during times of hardship and to celebrate your accomplishments. Tim has been an inspiration to Kaylee. He has displayed how being a hard worker, positive thinker, caring, and genuine person will get you far in life. He has shown the true definition of love to his friends, children, and wife. Tim, thanks to all of your hard work and love you have shared, you will always be more than just a father.

Cheryl Brown

Mother of the Bride

Cheryl had, has, and always will have a heart of gold. Even after gaining her wings and a paint brush to color our sunsets, she has always been one of Kaylee's biggest supporters. Through volleyball tournaments, horse shows, dog shows, 4H events, school events, and art class, Cheryl has always been front seat. Cheryl never fails to make people smile and laugh. Cheryl always made sure everyone was included and was having fun. Cheryl spread God's love daily and set the foundation for Kaylee's growing faith. Cheryl was an extremely talented trumpet player, artist, and mother. Cheryl taught Kaylee to never grow up and to always make sure there is time for fun. Thanks to Cheryl, laughter and joy will always be a priority to those who met her. We love you and miss you!

Jennefer Kennedy

Mother of the Groom

Jennefer is someone who makes sure you know that you are loved and cared for. Her strength does not go unnoticed. Not only did she manage to raise well-mannered children, but those of good hearts. She is an animal lover which has passed on to all of her family. Her favorite animals are a shark and a lion. Her favorite color is purple. All of these resemble her unwavering strength and loyalty.

Dawson Brown

Best Man

Dawson has known Michael for around five years. Michael helped Dawson in continuing his bull riding career. Dawson was stationed at Fort Hood, attached to a cavalry unit and has recently been discharged from the Army. Dawson is now focused on becoming a full-time professional bull rider and hopes to start his career in PRCA rodeos this year. Dawson has always been someone for Michael to relate to and been a listening ear. Dawson has shown true support in Michael's life and always been willing to give a helping hand.

Teddy Dutcher

Groomsman

Michael has known Teddy for around 3 years. Teddy has become a part of the family through his relationship with Michael's sister, Brittni. Michael has thought highly of Teddy's ambition and hard work ethic. Teddy has been a great role model to his friends and family. Michael and Teddy are the "whisky connoisseur's" of the group and will not turn down trying something new.

Austin Brown

Groomsman

Austin is the brother of Kaylee and has always been recognized by his nickname of "brown bear". Although this nickname may sound intimidating, don't let that fool you. Austin has always been loyal and giving to his family and has been a best friend to Kaylee. Austin loves birds and riding his motorcycle. He has a true eye for creativity, although he may not admit it. Austin has not only learned how to fly a drone but has learned to make beautiful videos and taken astonishing photos even from the lenses of a phone. He has taught Kaylee to enjoy the little things in nature and grow a bigger appreciation for the amazing sites and animals here on earth.

Ryan Kennedy

Groomsman

Ryan is Michael's youngest brother and is an avid NASCAR circle track racing fan and has attended many races. Ryan works at Colorado National Speedway and has fueled Michael's love for racing. Although Michael tends to lose, he enjoys playing video games with Ryan. Ryan is very passionate about his streaming, trains, and hockey. GO AVS! Ryan has aided in the (unhealthy) passion Michael and Kaylee have in going to hockey games. Ryan is a very caring person, and it never goes unnoticed.

Josh Kennedy

Groomsman

Josh is Michael's brother with birthdays of only two weeks apart. Josh's strength and perseverance has been inspirational to Michael. Josh is an amazing father to his children and loving husband to his wife. Josh's main hobby is woodworking and resin inlay tables on live-edge wood. Josh and Michael have many memories causing havoc in their teenage years and many visits to the hospital. Boys will be boys. Josh has (hopefully) influenced Michael to keep having fun and to keep being strong and caring for those that you love.

FAQs

Question

How are including those who have passed?

Answer

We will have a table dedicated to our loved ones who are unable to attend. We understand that there are many people in our lives who would have loved to join us in celebrating. We will have a book on a table to write names of friends or loved ones who would have loved to celebrate with us. This way all of those who have passed before us will be able to have their names signed in attendance too. If you would like to bring a photo to have us place in the book, we will have a folder to place photographs in. After the wedding, we will place those photos in our book.
