Cocktail attire, but with color! Think Italian garden wedding with wild flowers, linens, and sunsets :)
Keep in mind that you will be walking over Italian terrain which consists of a lot of grass, stones, and worn down pavement. So for women, chunky heels may be a better option :) We will also be having a shuttle option for guests to get to the wedding and back to the hotel. Details to follow.

Michael and I will be spending the afternoon on the beach in Pesaro and would love for guests to join us. This day will be mostly to decompress as we will all likely be spent from the night before. We will have an umbrella at the Excelsior Beach and several guests will be next door at the Bagno Bea Beach that is part of the Bellevue Hotel. If you’d like to join us and don’t have an umbrella rented, you can rent an umbrella for the day at Excelsior (~$60) or Bagno Bea Beach (~$20). Then we can spend the day enjoying the sun and having an aperitivo by the water :)

Flights to Pesaro
Best way to arrive to Pesaro is by flying into Bologna (1.5 hours drive, 1 hour train), Ancona (1 hour drive, 40 min train), Florence (3 hour drive, 4 hour train), or Venice (3 hour drive, 4 hour train). Bologna is typically the cheapest city to fly into. If you want to make a trip out of the wedding, then you can always come from Rome or Milan via the train system and the last stop on the train would be Pesaro, which is right in the downtown area. Nearby countries that are easy to fly into Bologna from are Greece and Croatia if you are interested in a Euro trip! Please reach out to me if you have any travel questions! **Of note, there is a new potential requirement to get an ETIAS travel authorization before heading to Italy. It is some form of a visa good for 3 years. It is supposed to launch in mid-2025. It is done online and takes a couple minutes with a small fee. I will update you all as I find out more.**

Excelsior Hotel SPA & Lido
This hotel is a 5 star hotel right on the beach and includes a private beach with umbrellas. It is probably the nicest hotel in Pesaro and on the more expensive side. This hotel will be the pick up point for the shuttles as it is more central. We have a hotel block for this hotel that includes the perk of being able to reserve the room ahead of time and being able to cancel up to 10 days before (except you would like a deposit to reserve). The price includes free breakfast and an umbrella on their private beach. It does have the below requirements. - Block code has expiration date of 2/28/2025 - 20% not refundable deposit required at time of confirmation, pay the balance at the hotel at check-in - Cancellation would be possible free of charge up to 10 days before arrival

This hotel is owned by the same owners as The Excelsior. It is a 4 start hotel with beach front view and is more economical that The Excelsior. The location is about a 12 minute walk from The Excelsior where the shuttles will likely be picking guests up for the wedding day. We have a hotel block for this hotel that includes a discount for sea side only room pricing and free breakfast. Put the discount first before searching rooms and it'll show the block. It does have the below requirements. - Block code has expiration date of 1/31/2025 - 20% not refundable deposit required at time of confirmation, pay the balance at the hotel at check-in - Cancellation would be possible free of charge up to 10 days before arrival If you don't want a sea side view and want a cheaper rate of $260 a night then do not use the block code.

This hotel is the most economical hotel of the bunch, family friendly, and right on the beach with a pool and private beach. It is a 3 minute walk from the Excelsior Hotel which is will be where the shuttle pick up point for guests. We do have a room block for this hotel. In order to book you have to email them to inform them at time the type of room you want (number of guest, beach view, etc) and explain that it is for Gaia and Mike's wedding and they will book it with the discount. See below for the room block conditions for this hotel: - The rooms will be blocked until 4/30/2025, so must reserve before then - Minimum stay 6 nights with 10% discount from the list price for the room with breakfast included and ability to reserve beach umbrella during stay ($20/day) - To book you must email them to book the reservation with dates and state that it’s for Gaia and Michaels wedding

Il Pignocco Country House
This is a cute countryside bed and breakfast that is a 5 minute walk from my country house and the ceremony. It has a beautiful view, pool, and parking lot. I used to walk to this villa before it became a hotel to play hide and seek with my cousins and pick up pinoli (pine nuts) when we were younger :) This hotel has a strict policy of 7 minimum night stay between Saturday-Saturday. So if you book here then you need to consider that on Saturday you will be checking out and that we will be hosting a beach day gathering for guests to say your goodbyes before leaving. The Saturday event is obviously optional and you do not have to stay for it, so if you were planning to leave Saturday morning the day after the wedding than this may be a good option! I do recommend renting a car as this is about 15 minutes out from the beach/downtown.

Quick and easy sit down place to get a piadina, which is a staple food item of the region. Its basically and italian tortilla filled with bunch of italian cold cuts/cheese. My favorite is with prosciutto crudo, rucola, stracchino or squacquerone.

Delicious rustic pasta restaurant, I love the gnocchi.

While we love every single one of your kiddos, we’ve decided to make the ceremony and dinner adults only. We recognize that you may want to use this opportunity to take the whole family in a trip to Europe, so if you have questions regarding babysitters in Pesaro for the evening feel free to reach out to us. Our hope is to make this an intimate wedding with just very close friends and direct family, so we limited the amount of plus ones. We also found that our country house is not big enough to give all our guests a plus one. We hope you understand <3

Where to park for the wedding?
Answer
We will be having buses take guests from the city to the country house for the wedding. Details to come. We prefer guests take the buses or taxi to the country house as parking is limited.
