We love summer in Western North Carolina, and we are excited to get married in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The wedding ceremony and reception dinner are to take place outside. Our wedding theme is a blend of "Appalachian Summer" and "Bluegrass." Here is what to expect during our wedding weekend. We can't wait to celebrate with you!

Tubing on the French Broad River

Swimsuits!!! Tevas, Chacos

On Friday, before our rehearsal dinner, we will be floating down the French Broad River. The float begins at 1:00pm, but please arrive 15 to 30 minutes early. We will be meeting at Headwater Outfitters before the flow trip, and will be shuttled back to Headwater Outfitters afterwards. To help us make accurate reservations, please let us know in advance if you plan to come. Everyone is welcome!

Rehearsal Dinner

6:00 pm - 10:00 pm

This event is casual.

Our rehearsal dinner will take place at Ecusta Brewery. We would love for everyone to attend the event, including children. Please let us know in advance whether or not you plan on attending, so that we can plan accordingly. Gordingo's Kitchen will be providing the food, which will be Mexican-style comfort food, along with a variety of beer and cider.

The wedding theme is a combination of "Appalachian Summer" and "Bluegrass." We encourage guests to to wear bolo ties, hats, boots, clogs, etc. Have fun with it and feel free to add your own twist. The reception dinner will be outside, and the after-party will be within the property's "barn." Please arrive around 5:30 pm for the reception. We will have a photographer to take pictures of guests upon arrival. Guests can also enjoy a beverage before dinner begins at 6:00 pm.

We are planning on serving bbq during the dinner.

After Party

The wedding theme is a combination of "Appalachian Summer" and "Bluegrass." We encourage guests to to wear bolo ties, hats, boots, clogs, etc. Have fun with it and feel free to add your own twist.

The after-party will take place at the barn located on the property. During this time, guests can mingle and socialize inside or outside by the fire. Guests can also enjoy playing games such as ping-pong, billiards, shuffleboard, corn-hole, or they can sing karaoke. Wine, cider, and beer will also be available. Please provide your song recommendation on your RSVP for the after-party playlist.

Pilot Cove offers efficiency, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom cabin rentals near Pisgah National Forest (located near The Hub). Sam's family is staying here for the weekend, and the property may have a few more cabin rentals still available for those who would like to stay there.

We recommend renting an Airbnb in Pisgah Forest or Brevard for the wedding weekend. The wedding will be hosted at Michaela's parents' home in Pisgah Forest.

Flight

Asheville Regional Airport

If you plan on flying to the event, we recommend flying to Asheville Regional Airport, the gateway to and from Western North Carolina. The airport is about a 25-minute drive to downtown Brevard, NC, and Pisgah Forest, NC.

Kids are welcomed at the rehearsal dinner, but the wedding reception is child-free. If you are interested in finding a babysitter for the weekend, text Michaela at (828) 577-0411). I might be able to find someone local for you!

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

We have planned a tubing trip for Friday, September 6th at 1:00 pm. Please RSVP ahead of time if you plan on attending the float trip so that we can plan on reserving enough tubes for everyone. Our rehearsal dinner is also Friday, September 6th, at 6:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to the rehearsal dinner, but please RSVP in advance.
