The Story began in the most unexpected place- 8th Grade Art Class. One day a stranger of a classmate asked to borrow Alycia's sidekick cell phone to call a friend but that friend did not answer, so the moment seemed to pass without consequence. Later that evening, the phone rang- it was Michael calling back. Little did she know, that a phone call would change the rest of her life forever. Alycia and Michael started talking and from then on, they couldn't stop. For months, the connection grew through texts and late-night phone calls, with his voice becoming her comfort at the end of every day. Though they hadn't met in person, their connection was undeniable. As time went on Summer 2011, Michael decided it was time for them to meet in person. He walked 3.5mi from Easton to her Grandma's House just to meet her. Finally, meeting in person felt so surreal - like a real-life "Love is Blind" moment. Michael was so over the moon, while she was nervous as ever. Alycia had a really difficult time trying to connect the physical embodiment of him to the voice that was so familiar. But in time, his charm and his way with words made falling for him inevitable. Being that they were just kids back then, growing up while growing together was far from easy. Life kept throwing them challenges such as becoming young parents for the first time while still trying to find themselves. Those trials were tough to navigate but it taught resilience and importance of choosing each other, even when it wasn't the easy choice. After so many years, in January 2016, she moved into Michael's Home giving them a fresh start and learning how to strengthen the bond between them, which marked the turning point in their relationship. October 31st, 2020, Alycia had planned a Surprise Birthday Dinner for Michael, on a day he has always had to share with others, she wanted to make sure that he felt special. Enjoying the evening at The Top in Bexley, filled with love and laughter, Alycia was very proud of herself for pulling it all off. As they finish up dinner, they sang 'Happy Birthday' awaiting dessert, just then Michael decides to turn the tables and leaves her in awe. Leaving Alycia to be the one truly surprised as she listens to his birthday wish of wanting to be with her for the rest of his life, she watches him get down on one knee. Her body was too in shock to move and her hearing being flooded with applause of complete strangers from the restaurant, so speechless, Michael had no choice but to assume it was a YES! Love deepened, and soon brought their second child in the world. It was during this time Alycia realized how important marriage truly meant to her. So as they now prepare to say "I Do", they both still reflect on that phone call and the incredible journey that began with it. From Late-Night conversations to 2 kids and all the ups and downs in between, this is just the beginning of forever.
