It was early 2020, a time when the world seemed to slow down as their busy lives were put on pause. Tony was in the middle of his Ph.D. program in Seattle, while Sandy was finishing her undergraduate studies and preparing for dental school. Then, the pandemic happened, and everything changed. With lockdowns in place, Tony decided to move back home to Tampa. Before long, they found themselves hanging out amongst friends — Sandy was always around because Tony’s brother, Andrew, always had friends over. Before Tony realized it, he started really looking forward to his brother having people over, just for the chance to see Sandy. What started as a casual hangout quickly grew into something much deeper. It wasn’t until a friends’ trip to Colorado, however, that everything truly clicked. Amidst the stunning mountain views and unforgettable moments, it became clear that the idea of just being friends was out of the question — Tony simply couldn’t imagine his life without Sandy. Soon after, he asked her out, and the rest was history. Fast forward three incredible years later, they found themselves back in Colorado. But this time, nerves were high. Surrounded by the breathtaking scenery that had been the backdrop to the start of their love, Tony got down on one knee and asked Sandy to be his wife.
