Before we ever officially met, our paths had already crossed. Lukas first saw Melissa at Catfish Charlie’s while she was waitressing. He came in with a friend, noticed her immediately… and was way too shy to make a move. (Luckily, fate wasn’t done yet.) About a year later, we matched on Hinge — and this time, we didn’t miss our chance. Our first date turned into seven hours of driving around town, talking about life, sharing stories, and listening to music. Melissa remembers feeling a perfect mix of nervous and excited, and by the end of the night, we both knew something special had started. A couple weeks later, after a date that ended with us back at Lukas’s house watching a movie, we had a real, honest conversation about what we wanted out of life and relationships. That moment made it clear — this wasn’t casual. This was serious. This was intentional. We fell in love through laughter, deep talks, everyday moments, and building a life that feels safe, steady, and full of love. We discovered how much we value the same things: family, commitment, and creating a future together. Lukas loves that Melissa is such an amazing mom to our kids, and Melissa loves how caring, kind, and devoted Lukas is to taking care of our family. When it came time to propose, Lukas had the perfect plan… and Melissa had absolutely no idea. Her sister told her they were going to the arboretum to take cute pictures of just Melissa and the kids, and that Lukas was at work. After being up all night with the baby, Melissa decided to skip the cute outfit and just wear a sweatshirt and jeans — convinced it was just a low-key photo moment. Little did she know, Lukas was waiting there and about to ask the most important question of their lives. Completely surprised, emotional, and exhausted (in the best way), Melissa said yes.
