Marissa and I met at UTEP in 1998. We were both clarinet players and pursuing a degree in Music Education. One day, I needed a ride to our clarinet studio recital. I only knew Marissa as a fellow band member, but had not formally met her. I took a chance and asked her for a ride in which she kindly agreed. We hit it off from day one and she has been by my side ever since. She continued her career in Music Education and eventually moved to Pflugerville,TX where she now lives with her husband, Manny and her two boys, Antonio and Santiago. She is currently an Assistant Principal in Austin ISD. My friendship with Marissa is a huge blessing to me. We have supported each other through the best of times as well as the hardest times. We have made sure to show our love for each other no matter the distance. I am honored and so full of joy to have her stand with me on this very special day.

My amazing daughter has been my biggest supporter, just as I’ve been hers. We’ve been through so much together, watching each other grow into the women we are today. Amanda holds a deeply special place in both mine and Vicente's life, not only as my friend of 18 years and former Director of Special Education, but also as our MATCHMAKER! As a leader, Amanda fostered a work environment where every team member felt valued, welcome, and safe. Through the long hours and unwavering support, our professional bond blossomed into a friendship that I cherish wholeheartedly. Amanda has always been my fiercest cheerleader, encouraging me through every season of life, including my love life. It was her joyful collaboration with Horacio that brought me and Vicente together, and thanks to them, we’re here today celebrating this incredible moment. Having Amanda stand beside me on this special day means everything. She will be playing the role as my Something Blue, a symbol of love, loyalty, and the beautiful journey that brought us here.

Sophia was born one week after Vicente and I started dating. When we asked her to be our flower girl, it felt like everything had come full circle, tiny, new, and full of promise, just like our relationship at the time. Watching her grow over the years has been one of the quiet joys of our journey together. Having her walk down the aisle ahead of us, scattering petals with that shy smile and sparkle in her eyes, will be deeply meaningful. She represents the beginning of our story, the love that’s grown around us, and the family we’re so lucky to be part of. We couldn’t imagine our day without her.

Horacio and I met at my workplace in 2006. We were both employees in the same department and we quickly became friends. Horacio and his family were with me in the most difficult times of my life and for that I am eternally grateful. They opened their doors not only to myself, but my children and our friendship has grown throughout this journey. Horacio is also one of the people responsible for why you are reading this page today. Our friendship consists of honest conversations, hard lessons at times and it wouldn't be a true friendship without some banter. I am honored to call him my best friend and for this occasion my best man, as I wouldn't be where I am today without his guidance and from time to time a knock or two on the head. Horacio works at the same district I work in as the Executive Director of Technology.

Eduardo is my first born son, he is very resilient and is always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needs it. Eduardo loves anime and anything with technology. He is currently working in the automotive field, but has dreams of joining the military to make a difference. I am proud to call him my son and to have him in the wedding as a groomsman by my side while Melinda and I are forever joined in matrimony.

Alejandro is my youngest son. He is growing into the most free spirited and is ready to take on the world and is not shy about it. Alejandro is also my athletic child, a skilled guitar player and loves to play his guitar even though sometimes I might not want to hear it. He is currently attending school, but works at a dance company on the side. I am proud to call him my son and have him in the wedding by my side while Melinda and I are forever joined in matrimony.

JJ isn't just my nephew, he is now Melinda's godson, which makes him a double blessing. He holds a special place in both of our hearts. Having him walk down the aisle with the rings that symbolize our forever is more than ceremonial, it is deeply personal. JJ is the kind of young man who brings energy and heart to everything he does. Whether he’s on the football field, hitting home runs in baseball, sinking shots on the basketball court, or grappling on the wrestling mat, he gives it his all. His dedication, strength, and sportsmanship inspire us, and we couldn’t be more proud to have him by our side on such an important day. He’s growing into an incredible young man, and having him play such a meaningful role in our wedding is a moment we’ll treasure forever.
